Malaviya National Institute of Technology B.Tech Review By Mukul Joshi

First of all as I am a resident of Rajasthan state and the MNIT is present in Jaipur so this was the very first reason to choose this and also the location and the culture of the college also inspired me to take admission in this. Here if we talk about the college it is full of greenery and a clean campus and even from the placement point of view also it is awesome the hostels are very good and their maintenance is also fine enough. There are about 31 clubs there in the college which is guided by the deal academics office to improve the co-curricular activities in the students whether these clubs are hosted by the 3rd and 4th year students.

If we see from the academics point of view the college is just normal as if any other NIT. Like I am in first year so our midterm exams were in the September and our end sem was in nov-dec month the exam papers level was just normal not too much tough. There are classes on 5 days in week. However the syllabus of all the subjects was completed on time and also of good quality but there was a little lack of practice questions in the class to understand all the concepts clearly.

In the first year, we were taught 12 subjects in which 6 institute core, 2 branch specific, and 4 labs include. I have an average overview on the faculties however all the faculties are having a Ph.D degree but not all are that much good in teaching some of them are good but some have a bad attitude of teaching that creates a difference between the teachers and students. All of the faculties have their own way of teaching they may be good for some students.

The placements of the college are good enough just like an average National Institute of Technology. There is a Placement and Training Cell in the college which helps the students to get good opportunities of placements and internships by sending mails about upcoming placements and also trains the students about the interview sessions and the placement exams.

There are about 16 hostels in the institution itself. I as a MNIT hosteller can say that their hostels are good in infrastructure and well maintained which is important. We have separate mess for most of the hostels the mess food is also good however the service of mess is little poor because we have to stay in rows for 10-15 minutes for food. In the first year we have 3 seater rooms but with enough space and for second year onwards we get a single room.

The overall infrastructure of the college is very good as it's example it has the biggest lecture theatre complex of Asia the 'VLTC' also there are separate buildings for each department we have main buildings as Prabha Bhawan, VLTC, Computer Centre (that is open 24×7), Central Canteen, Night Canteen, Vinodini, Aurobindo, Gargi, Aacharya Bhawan, etc. We have a cricket and a football ground and volleyball and basketball courts also. There is also a court for lawn tennis also.

There overall campus life is peaceful and exciting. There is always something to learn through the teachers and even the students there are seniors which supports instead of ragging. We also feel free to contact to our professors and seniors. There is a famous place in the campus called PMC (Pandit Malviya Chowk) where a Saras Parlour and some vegetables shop are present. We feel secure in the campus as we have provided security guards everywhere in the campus.
