Kristu Jayanti College B.Com Review By Karan Khadka

Kristu Jayanti College, Autonomous. Tagline "Light and prosperity". A College well known for the overall activities be it academics or extracurricular activities or sports. An institution consisting of more than 8000+ students (at present). As being a student and talking from a student's point of view I felt that it an authoritative management. Very simple admission process, selection happens on basis of the Marks obtained.

I had chosen B.com. I didn't write any entrance exams or any other exams for admission. I didn't have any specific reason for me to choose B.Com. I had done CEBA in PU which was the only reason for me to choose B.Com. I didn't have any expectations from the subjects because 90% of the subjects were new to me. Yes this course will help me get a job.

I had 20+ teachers in my 6 semesters. Overall there were 220+ teachers in Kristu Jayanti College Bangalore last year and each had an average of 3 years teaching experience and all of them had a minimum qualification of Masters degree with NET clearance. All the teachers had very good subject knowledge but few weren't that good at presenting the topics.

I had the plans of going for higher studies and successfully carried on with the plan, so I don't know about placements.

I don't know about the approximate area of the college, but there are 3 buildings, Main block, MBA block and Administrative block, classrooms are very spacious and there is library in every block (building). There are 10+ cafeterias, a play ground, a basketball court and a badminton court as well and there are 9 lifts in total for the students. 2 doctors are always available in the campus, there's a retiring rooms for boys and girls and first aid kit is always available and fire extinguishers are also available for emergency.

My overall campus life was very good in every aspect the only problem was with the college time table as the classes used to go up to 4:30pm starting from 9am in the morning. There were more than 20+ fests every academic year. The college has NSS, NCC, KCDC and CSA units as well which work for the social welfare. You will have a very good opportunity to grow as a responsible social being if you grab the opportunities with both the hands. We also have ethnic day and annual day celebration every year.
