Dharmsinh Desai University BBA Review By Mitesh Yadav

I was a part of Dharmsinh Desai University for BBA and from my understanding the University is way below expectation. I was a part of the celebrations when the University completed 50 long years and maybe it was a brand name then but as of now the ratings have just deteriorated. Thank God that I have to review point wise and that will make my review easier. My review is for the ones who are thinking of taking admission to this University for BBA course a complete no-no. The fake entrance that they take is of no use as they have merit list on the basis of 12th score as well. The schools have turned Wi-Fi and this so called prestigious University doesn't have a Wi-Fi. The fees is so high and there’s no ac’s in the classrooms but in staff room, they have all the facilities. The placement value derives the prestige of University and in our batch of 120; only 15-20 got placed. Now that’s a shame considering our chancellor is such a huge name and a Padma Shri awardee as well. The fear like environment as the students has no right at all.

The studies are done in the classrooms and because the attendance is not compulsory the classrooms are so dirty. I went to college during semester exams that I had to tear pages from my book and remove the dust from the bench I was given. Not just mine it was the case with all. This is the treatment that we got after paying such a huge fees. The University has nothing to do as once you have entered the University it is almost certain that you will pass out having a BBA degree in hand. Fair deal though as pay 3 lakhs and get a BBA degree.

What a great faculty we have at DDU. You must have heard students fighting among themselves and at DDU, it's exactly the opposite. Due to internal politics the teachers are seen fighting among themselves. The answer to the above pointer why students avoid coming to the college. So many things were told by the teachers that you will have monthly tests and all in the first semester itself I knew about the malpractices that is going on and I have actually wasted my life joining this college.

Only 15 or at max 20 from our batch got the placements and that too not so great as they were offered a clerk type jobs in banks or an assistant in some firms. The worst part was that one of the students was offered professor’s role and I wonder what he is going to teach because he himself needs teaching. Well that’s DDU for you.

There are 4 boys’ hostel blocks and 3 girl’s hostel buildings. Just like the classes the hostels are also the same as they are not at all maintained. The rooms are so dirty and the students are enjoying the freedom as they have built the habit of staying in dirt. The rooms are old and even the walls are not painted for a long time. The hostel demands a renovation and only God knows when that will happen. A lot of outsiders come to the University and I would only request them to not come as the University has nothing special and only have minuses.

It was 50 years back that the founder had this much land and they decided to start a University. Must have started it with a lot of hopes but where it is today one could have never imagined. The campus is massive and has numerous departments and all have their separate blocks in the campus. The medical department was like a mile away as I never even went there. The hostels are also inside the campus and what I should call it a Britisher’s library as well because the books that it has are over 40-50 years old. Yes new books are also there but taking other things into account library is far better. The campus is green and looks like a garden actually. The buildings have been renovated and therefore looks new but from inside it’s still the same. The University has fooled many and I was also a victim of that. The sporting ground and huge campus is what I felt prey for and I hope my review reach far and wide so that students think twice before joining the University.

I don’t know how to write this in detail as I hardly visited. My cousins were in Mumbai and half the time I used to stay there only as they were living their college life and we were just doing the formalities. One was Mithibai College fest and one that our University has. The fest name has been inspired from some Hollywood film or American University it seems, as the fest was called “felicific”. The reason why this name is chosen because if by mistake they called it terrific the public would have killed them. In a fest students are supposed to show their talent while during our fest the maximum time was consumed by the chief guests giving some stupid lectures. Please excuse me but I just can’t write anymore as it was the worst experience that I will ever have in this lifetime.
