Christ University MBA Review By Anupam Malviya

Christ University is one of the best Universities in Bangalore and the University accepts various entrance scores such as CAT, CMAT, XAT, ATMA, and GMAT. 64 percentile CAT score helped me made my way to this beautiful University after graduation from St. Joseph's College Bangalore. Like many Universities in India, Christ too has his share of bad and goods. I don’t think one should just look at one side of the spectrum and I will share my experiences where the University has done good and where the management has to improve.

Among one of the biggest negative is the dress code at the college. Not just for MBA students but even UG students have a dress code. I was left baffled a lot of times as my opinions and complaints were inapproachable. If these are negatives then there a whole lot of positives as well. The University has a high quality curriculum, infrastructure, and the exposure that it provides to the students. The college organize and makes your skillset effective that can enhance your working style in the future. Above all it’s the Christ campus that is certainly best in the country. The campus is lush green and has a lot of walking space. The campus has a variety of canteens that serves food of all sorts.

The curriculum is advanced and designed in a way that it will enhance your skills and at the same time make you organized in life. I was a mess and will thank college as it has taught me the importance of being organized and presentable. The exposure that we were provided in terms of having a reality check of the corporate world was significant. The course is phenomenal and so are some of the teachers. The campus infrastructure was an add-on as the computer labs, project room were all so gracious that I actually loved spending time there.

The college has hired the best teachers but unfortunately some of them just don’t know how to teach. In MBA this is unacceptable. While some faculty members are dedicated and their teaching style was a compliment as it can’t be bettered for sure. The best part of the University is research and our research faculty was one of the greatest. I loved working with them and eating their heads up as I knew they won’t mind. Friendly banters with faculty members some nice gestures really summed up my 2 years at the Christ University. The faculty members were the one who made me an adept in research things and academics.

I will be honest as the placement has deteriorated from what I have heard. By the time the college was affiliated with the Bangalore University the placements were one of the best in Bangalore. In our time mostly sales officers jobs were offered and that too with an average salary of Rs. 30-35,000 per month. An MBA students after toiling hard for 2 years and spending a lot as the fees are hefty, I will say the placement department needs to check upon. I made many friends in MBA Executive course and only 20-30% students were placed. Thank God I didn’t chose that as I was offered a seat in that. The job that I offered wasn’t that great.

The campus is huge and the MBA students have 2 separate hostel buildings for boys and girls. Also, the college has off-campus hostels as well but I stayed in the one that was on campus. The hostel rooms are nice at least much better than my previous hostel. The hostel are not air-conditioned but are spacious and provides furniture that is basic requirement of a student. Rooms are available on single and twin sharing and there’s a common hall on each floor. The hostel mess though was pitiful and the canteens in the college are the places where I dependent for food.

Not just huge but the best in class as well. The MBA College is in the main campus and the campus size is 25 acres of land. The campus is clean and well-maintained. The Christ campus has the best library among top Colleges in Bangalore. There were 2 auditorium halls as were busy as the events and fest were held every month. Since the University offers numerous courses there are over 50 labs for sure. The internet programming lab was the one that was meant for MBA students and that was something which I never saw or imagines. The college campus has some 8-10 canteens and all of them served different foods. From South Indian café to a North Indian canteen the University has them all. The sports ground was no less that an international ground as the covering of grass is even and the dimensions too are of international standard.

The first thing that came in my mind while talking about the campus is the Christmas celebration. I have never seen such a celebration in my life before. If you are someone who is into festing then there’s no better place on Earth than the Christ campus. In 2 years, I witnessed some 40-50 fests for sure. At the campus students from various states and abroad have come to study and therefore it was a great mix of ethnicity and cultures. One celebration that needs the utmost attention is the Ethnic day that was celebrated at the campus. I bet it is the best that may ever see in any Universities of India. The college campus is filled with wonderful people and young minds that have a purpose in life.
