Fisheries: The new Future

Overall Rating
I opted for agriculture first but didn't get it so that I chose Fisheries as my course, I always wanted to study something different & got it. The enormous world of the underwater going to mesmerize you. Besides this the government job is always getting a secure place in this field & also placement are done properly.
 

Academics Rating
You can get into this course in two different ways. One by the merit counseling, they will check your higher secondary marks & the merit list will be made according to Physics, Chemistry, Biology marks, other than that you can enroll here with the ICAR examination. By this exam you will get a good amount of scholarship as well.
 

Faculty Rating
The teachers are friendly. Most of them are Ph.D & worked on so many papers, The teachers’ helps in all the purposes as they can most importantly, they behave like your friends mostly. They will guide you as your chosen path, for higher studies aspirants their approach will be different and for the job-oriented students their approach will be different.
 

Placement Rating
The placement was very good earlier the Covid era. But after the Covid era it decreased but still placements are happening as well as the government jobs.
 

Hostel Rating
You will get the best seniors-juniors best life in this hostel all I can say.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There are two buildings one huge building and one comparatively small one. The smaller one building is dedicated to one department only, aquatic animal health. The other 8 departments are located in same huge building in different floors. You will get a huge playground, fishery hatchery, big ponds, table tennis, volleyball, football, cricket, badminton etc. Also, there is a common mess building for the students.
 

Campus Rating
The life is changed in this faculty. The faculty taught me so many things. This faculty will prepare everyone for their future life & most importantly the bonding with seniors this will be the best thing for anyone living in this faculty. We get Lunch & dinner in very cheap price & the good is good in taste & healthy as well.

    I am a student of B.F.Sc 4th year of West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences. It is very good institution, teachers are well educated and helpful. Every year at least 10-15 students get placement in various fish feed and fish products producing companies. Students can also appear for JRF exam and get a chance to study in the Central Institute of Fisheries Education, BOMBAY.     Firstly our institution is ICAR Allied Institute that provide 4 year professional graduation degree program. It provides a great knowledge and interest about fishes and underwater animals of this world.     I am currently BFSc 4th year student. Our university is located in Belgachia. This University is accredited by ICAR and it is the only government facilitated fishery college in West Bengal.
