Grow with Fisheries

Overall Rating
Because it is a professional degree course and mainly deals with fishes and I almost think all Bengali’s important food is fish. So, we have to collect some curiosity about fish and Fishery life, that's why anyone can choose this institute. And my 3 years life with this institute and these aquatic animals are very interesting.
 

Academics Rating
The BFSc is a professional graduation degree program. And this institute has ICAR recommendation. So, any student after their 12th exam of any state can sit in CUET exam to get admission in this college but there are 7 seats, and students from West Bengal, after HS can apply in this college by fill the admission form and they can choose by their HS marks. Main motto is to know about something different of our plain graduation life any student can apply here who have some interesting thoughts about aquatic animals.
 

Faculty Rating
The professors who teach us are very helpful and their teaching methods and presentation about any topic are very good to know to about this topic. They are very well educated and involve project works with ICAR. Their teaching style also very good for learning mainly use of PowerPoint presentation for teaching is very useful to knowing quickly.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, many companies are come to the faculty, and they select 10-15 students from BFSc, MFSc, Ph.D students each year and offering 50000 -2 lakh money per month for their job. Mainly Godrej, Agrovet, MPEDA come, and their selection is done by interview process.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, we have total 3 hostels two for boys (UG and PG) and one for girls. Our hostel life is totally enjoyable and very good place for staying, having almost all facilities in the hostel. In hostel there are 2or 3 guards for security purposes and all the rooms are very well for staying and each student provided bed, table, chair, and bookshelves etc.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is very big, and our academic building is also very big having 10 separate departments and each department have 5 to 6 teacher room and 4 lab room for PG and Ph.D students. And all the departments have their separate laboratory equipment and machineries for research work of Ph.D students. We have a library which has to huge collection of books of different subjects of different writers which help the students to grow their knowledge.
 

Campus Rating
For any student of FFSc campus life must be non-forgettable. So may happy moments and enjoyable moments be made in this campus. And this is not too much crowded because every year 44 UG students are admit and 20 Ph.D students and 40 PG students are admitted. And activities like sport tournaments for football cricket badminton table tennis are held and freshers, farewell program held, before Durga Puja an Agomoni program held each year and most of all the students are participating in the annual sports which have so many events.

    I am a student of B.F.Sc 4th year of West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences. It is very good institution, teachers are well educated and helpful. Every year at least 10-15 students get placement in various fish feed and fish products producing companies. Students can also appear for JRF exam and get a chance to study in the Central Institute of Fisheries Education, BOMBAY.     Firstly our institution is ICAR Allied Institute that provide 4 year professional graduation degree program. It provides a great knowledge and interest about fishes and underwater animals of this world.     I am currently BFSc 4th year student. Our university is located in Belgachia. This University is accredited by ICAR and it is the only government facilitated fishery college in West Bengal.
