Gobinda Prasad Mahavidyalaya B.A Review By Abhijit Mahapatra

I have been reading in Gobinda Prasad Mahavidyalaya since last year. The educational atmosphere here is very much open and quite good. The teachers and the other non-teaching stuffs are also good in nature. I chose this college because it's near where I currently stay, and I heard some positive things about this college too. Others may choose this college as it will give them good atmosphere to study, and the teachers will help them a lot.

I choose B.A. Honors in English Literature course in this college. It's available to study in this college from the very beginning. You have to pass the H.S. exam with minimum 50 percent of marks in English to get enrolled in this course. You have to apply through the college's official website portal to take admission. I chose this course because English has always been my favorite subject since my childhood and I'm pretty good at it. And another reason to choose this course is because I prepare for competitive exams where English is an important part.

There are 4 professors to teach us the given course. They all did their BA, MA in English and qualified the UGC NET exam. All of them hold the Ph.D. degree while one holds M.Phil degree. In the past they also worked as other official jobs. They teach us very well and affectionately. They explain us every prose or poetry line by line. Overall, they are very good teachers.

No as it's a general degree college there is no placement cell at my institute.

Yes, we do have residential facility in our institute. But most of the students use to attend class daily from their homes as they are local. As I'm not a student residing at hostel, I can't provide much information about it.

There are 3 floors in our college, ground floor, first floor and second floor. There are 20 classrooms in each floor which means total 60 classrooms. Additional principal's room, staff common room, union room, office room, library, reading room, auditorium hall, conference hall, program hall are also there.

If I've to talk about my campus life, then I must say it has been really good. As a daily attendant of college, I observe everything very closely, the crowd of hundreds of students, their chaos etc. There are no such clubs run by students or even college, but a student union is there. On my first year there was no fresher's party held but this year plan is going on for a grand fest with all students. Additionally annual sports event, cultural programs are held every year.
