The overall performance of the college is moderately good and it has been ranked #12 in the list of Best colleges in 2017. It is a premier commerce college in India and one of the best private institutions in Kolkata. The admission process is totally merit-based and the cut-off goes very high every year. The college management is a little poor as the office people are very lazy to do anything. They don't even pick up the phone. However, the teaching faculty is very cooperative and sometimes helps in office work too.

I joined the college for B.Com (Hons) course that is especially for accountancy honors. The best part about doing honors from Goenka is that you don't need to have maths in class 12th which is an eligibility criterion for most of the good colleges. There are four main subjects and the fifth subject is your preferred language (Hindi, English, or Bengali). This is beneficial for students to study in their regional languages. It is always preferred to apply for B.Com (Hons) as it has more scope for your career and job opportunities. You will be getting a reputed position in any firm after gaining this degree.

The college has over 20 experienced teaching faculty members. And the teachers are extremely kind, educated, and cooperative. Some of our professors were the author of their own subject's books. There are many PhDs amongst the faculty members and they are respected everywhere in the city. Although the morning batch of the college has better faculty members and most of the CA students opt for the morning batch. There is no complaint about the quality of teaching by the experts. They clear doubts even after the classes and are very friendly in nature.

The college rules allow internships to students with 60% performance in academics. Top companies like Deloitte, EA & ES, Wipro, KPMG, etc. visited the college for providing placements. They conducted various aptitude tests and interviews to declare the results. There were three rounds of selection comprising the academic test, aptitude test, and interview. The interview part is the toughest to crack as the professionals ask some tricky questions to test your personality. The highest package of Rs. 7 lakhs per annum was offered by Wipro while the average package was Rs. 3.5 lakhs per annum. Nearly 30% of students got placed in a reputed company from our batch. While some batches have recorded a placement to 50% of students.

The college has no hostel of its own. However, a few seats are reserved for boys in the Eden Hindu Hostel.

The total area of our campus is 7932 Square Feet. It has 26 classrooms, two computer laboratories, and three seminar halls. Along with this, the college has two common rooms for girls and one for boys. There are a table tennis court and a gym for the college faculties and students. Classrooms and buildings are installed with smart boards, noise-free generators, and air conditioners. The college office, library, and principal room are entirely Wi-Fi enabled. There is a college canteen but it lacks in some services. Some food items mentioned on the menu are never available. Rates are normally affordable.

The overall campus life in the college is amazing if you get enrolled in the evening batch. The morning batch mostly focuses on academics and ignores recreational and co-curricular activities. Debates, speeches, programs, etc. are conducted in the college auditorium once in a while. There is a gym on the ground floor. The interaction level amongst students is good and their mixed cultural backgrounds create a diversified ambiance in the college. The college conducts fests once a year and several occasions are celebrated passionately such as the "Calcutta University Foundation Day". In short, if you have a good friend-group, your campus life experience in this college will be fantastic.
