UPCATET Eligibility Criteria 2025: Check Nationality, Age Limit, Aggregate Score & Qualifications

The UPCATET Eligibility Criteria 2025 states that the candidates must have passed the qualifying examination in the concerned stream as per respective courses in order to be eligible for the exam. The UPCATET eligibility criteria 2025 is designed by the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture & Technology, Meerut i.e., the exam conducting body. It is mandatory for the aspirants to align with the eligibility conditions in order to apply for the UPCATET 2025 exam which is going to be conducted tentatively in the 3^rd Week of June 2025.

Educational Qualifications

Students who want to apply for the exam should satisfy the below-listed course-specific academic qualifications:

• For UG programs: Passed Intermediate or its equivalent examination with the relevant subject combination / group.
• For PG programs: Qualified a UG degree in respective discipline for different courses.

Age Limit

Check the below-specified details to know about the age criteria to appear in the UPCATET Exam:

• For UG courses (except B.V.Sc & A.H): The lower age limit is 16 years and upper is 22 years.

* For B.V.Sc & A.H program, students must have completed minimum 17 years of age and must not be above 25 years of age.

• For PG Courses: No minimum and maximum age restriction for the students to apply for the exam.

Note: In all UG courses, SC / ST, OBC, and PwD category candidates will be given 5 years of relaxation in the upper age limit criteria.

Nationality

Students must be Indian Nationals and Domicile of Uttar Pradesh in order to apply for the entrance test.

Students must be a resident of Uttar Pradesh and satisfied any one of the following domicile criteria in order to appear in the UPCATET exam:

• Aspirants who have passed the qualifying examination from Uttar Pradesh (UP) and have studied in UP for the past 5 years. In addition to this, they have been residing in Uttar Pradesh for many years.
• Indian candidates whose fathers residence / native place is Uttar Pradesh and they themselves are residents of UP.
• Indian citizens whose father is not a domicile of UP but students themselves or their father have acquired residence in Uttar Pradesh and have been staying in the state for at least 5 years till the date of submission of the exam application.
• The Wards of the employees of Government of India (civil or military services) or employees of public sector undertakings like Life Insurance Corporation, Nationalised Banks, Indian Heavy Electricals, Indian Drug and Pharmaceutical Limited, serving in the UP state (attachment of employer’s certificate is mandatory). In this condition, such students are required to submit the affidavit to this effect on a stamp paper of appropriate value.
• Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) candidates who have migrated overseas and whose ancestors were a domicile of Uttar Pradesh.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture & Technology has set the course-specific eligibility requirements for the UPCATET qualified candidates to seek admission in their desired UG, PG, and Ph.D program offered by the participating Institutes on the basis of exam scores.

Special Notes to Consider

Candidates should read the following key points in order to understand the reservation policy in a better way:

• During the selection / admission process, candidates availing reservation need to submit the required certificate in the prescribed format according to the latest Order of Uttar Pradesh Government.
• Candidates belonging to OBC category should ensure that they do not fall under the Creamy Layer and they are also required to submit the certificate of the same. If any candidates do not produce the requisite certificate of financial year 2024-25 or latest, they will be regarded as the general category students.
• Admission will not be given to the candidates having disability in the following physical fitness category:
  • Disability of the total body including disability of chest / spine more than 50%.
  • Disability of lower limb of more than 50%.
  • Disability of Upper Limb
  • Visually Handicapped candidates
  • Disability of Hearing
  • Candidates with progressive diseases like Myopathies, etc
  • Disabilities which otherwise would interfere in the performance of the duties of a veterinarian.

Note: The candidate’s disability should be specified by a duly constituted and authorised Medical Board which consists of at least 3 specialists out of which 2 must be specialty concerned. In addition to this, students need to present themselves before the medical board.

Aspirants who fit into the exam eligibility criteria will be able to start with the UPCATET Registration 2025 process probably in the 4^th Week of March 2025. The registration & application form (once released) can be filled Online on the exam’s official website i.e., “upcatet.org” till 2^nd Week of May 2025.

For registration, students need to go to the official website and fill-in all the details to generate a registration number. Afterwards, candidates need to login with the required credentials and enter all the details in the UPCATET application form.
