TANCET 2025 is expected to be conducted in the 2^nd week of March 2025 by Anna University, Chennai on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu. The registration for TANCET 2025 will begin tentatively from the 2^nd week of January 2025. The exam is conducted for the candidates who wish to take admission in the MBA & MCA courses in the colleges & universities of Tamil Nadu. TANCET is popularly known as Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test.

TANCET examination 2025 is an OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) based entrance exam that will be conducted in offline mode in around 15 test centres of Tamil Nadu.

The TANCET 2025 Eligibility Criteria is prescribed by the conducting (Anna University, Chennai) on its official website i.e., “tancet.annauniv.edu”. Students must note that only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply and there is no prescribed age limit to appear for the test.

  • Completed Graduation of minimum 3- years.
• For MCA Program

  • Completed other equivalent Graduation Course with Mathematics as one of the subjects in 12^th standard / Graduation.

* For the aforementioned eligibility criteria, students must have obtained minimum 50% marks (45% for BCM / BC / SC / MBC / ST / SCA candidates of Tamil Nadu) in the qualifying examination.

* Students who are currently in the final year / semester of the qualifying degree are also eligible to apply for TANCET 2025.

The TANCET 2025 Registration will tentatively begin from the 2^nd Week of January 2025 and remain open till the 2^nd Week of February 2025. Students who fulfil the eligibility criteria of the TANCET examination 2025 must register themselves before the due date of the registration process. A registration fee of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 500/- for the ST / SCA / SC candidates of Tamil Nadu) must be paid while applying for the exam.

The TANCET 2025 syllabus for MCA consists of 4 sections, which are:

For MBA

There are several sections in the TANCET exam 2025 syllabus for MBA. Students must prepare the following key topics listed below:

Candidates must be aware of the TANCET 2025 Exam Pattern so that there will be no confusion on the actual exam day.  The entrance exam is an OMR based test of 100 marks that consists of a total of 100 questions. There will be 4 options given to choose from for every question in the OMR sheet. Students must shade the desired correct option completely using a black ball pen. Use of pencils to shade the OMR sheet is not allowed, & will be considered as an incorrect answer.

The weightage of each question is 1 mark and 1/4^th marks (0.25 marks) are deducted for each incorrect answer. Students must note that if more than one box is shaded for a particular question, 0.25 marks will be deducted for that too.

* The OMR sheets of the TANCET exam are scanned through the computer for evaluation; therefore, students must shade the answer boxes so that the option number gets completely covered. If not, the answer may not be scanned by the scanner properly, resulting in wrong evaluation.

The TANCET 2025 Admit Card will be available online on the official website of Anna University a few days before the commencement of TANCET 2025 exam. Students must download their Admit Card from “tancet.annauniv.edu” by using their login credentials as it is compulsory to carry its hard copy to the Exam Centre on TANCET exam date 2025.

Students must download their TANCET 2025 Score Card within 10 days of the announcement of results. The exam Score card will be needed during the admission process. In case of loss, students can request a duplicate score card by paying Rs. 354/- in form of a DD (Demand Draft) & write a requesting application to the Secretary of TANCET, Anna University, Chennai.

* Students must note that in case of any modification / change in the basic details of the candidates like Name, Date of Birth, Nativity, Community, Gender, etc., they must submit the desired proof to the concerned authority before downloading the TANCET 2025 exam Score Card. Once downloaded, requests for any corrections will not be accepted.

The TANCET 2025 Cut off reflects the minimum qualifying marks that a candidate applying for admission in MCA / MBA in one of the participating institutes must score in order to qualify TANCET 2025. There is no official cutoff list released by Anna University. However, the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Chennai releases the official rank based cut-off list & marks cut-off list for all the participating Colleges / Institutes / Universities.

Students who qualify the TANCET 2025 exam cut-off of the particular desired Institute or university will be eligible to take admission in the MBA / MCA Program. Candidates can navigate the website on “tancet.annauniv.edu” to view the cut-off list of various participating colleges.

Students who qualify the TANCET 2025 entrance test will be eligible for centralised Single-Window online TANCET 2025 counselling in the Constituent Colleges & University Departments of Anna University, Self-financing Colleges, Annamalai University, and the Government & Government aided Colleges of Tamil Nadu. Students can navigate the rank-based and the marks-based cut off list to know their possibilities of getting admission in the desired College / Institute / University.

Moreover, the provisional TANCET 2025 Seat Allotment list will be released later by DTE, Chennai for offering admission to the students in MBA and MCA. Candidates must complete the admission process of the desired educational institution in order to confirm their respective admission seats.

* Hall Ticket of TANCET should be produced during the Admission & Counselling process. If lost, candidates can obtain a duplicate Hall Ticket by paying Rs. 354/- in the form of a DD (Demand Draft) and need to send a request (in writing) to the Secretary of TANCET, Anna University, Chennai mentioning details like Application / Registration Number, Name of Test Centre, etc.
