SET Exam Eligibility Criteria 2025: Check Nationality, Age Limit, Aggregate Score & Qualifications

The SET exam eligibility criteria 2025 designed by the Symbiosis International (Deemed University) states that the candidates who have completed 12^th Standard with the minimum qualifying marks are eligible to take the Symbiosis SET Exam. Candidates of any age and nationality can take the entrance exam. Students must fulfill the prescribed eligibility criteria before going ahead with the registration process.

Candidates who are willing to take admission in the constituent units of the Symbiosis International (Deemed University) offering UG Hons. or Hons. with Research in the B.Sc (Economics / Applied Statistics & Data Science / Sport & Exercise Science), BBA (Information Technology / Media Management), B.A (Mass Communication), BCA courses, and BBA (Dual Program) must fulfill the SET exam eligibility criteria 2025.

The eligibility criteria of the Symbiosis SET exam is given below in detail:

Academic Qualification

Candidates must have passed 12^th Standard / equivalent exam from a recognised board to take the SET Exam 2025.

Qualifying Marks

Secured at least 50% marks / equivalent grade (45% / equivalent grade for SC / ST candidates) in the qualifying exam.

Age Limit

According to the SET Exam eligibility criteria 2025, the conducting body i.e., SIU - Symbiosis International (Deemed University) has not prescribed a minimum or maximum age limit to take the exam.

Nationality

• Indian Citizens are eligible to apply for SET Exam 2025.

* International candidates such as NRI / OCI / PIO / Foreign Nationals are exempted from applying for the SET Exam & are needed to qualify the English Proficiency Test.

Special Notes to Consider:

Some additional points regarding the SET exam eligibility criteria 2025 are mentioned below:

• Candidates who are opting for Honours with Research must obtain at least 7.5 CGPA & above at the end of the 6^th semester to continue the Research Program.
• For BBA Dual Degree Program offered by the Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies (SCMS), Bengaluru, students must additionally fulfill the below-given conditions for transition to Deakin University, Australia:
  • Passed first 2 years at SCMS, Bengaluru with a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 55 (6.25 CGPA).
  • Obtained minimum score of 6 in IELTS.

• For B.Sc with Hons. / Hons. with Research (Sports & Exercise Science), students must have participated additionally at District / State / National / International sports that are recognised by the School Games Federation of India (SGFI).

*Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria can complete  the SET Exam Registration 2025.

International candidates must fulfill the given below requirements in order to take admission in the constituent units of SIU:

*According to the Symbiosis Centre for International Education (SCIE), 20% seats will be reserved for the International students in each program.

As stated in the SET Exam Eligibility Criteria 2025, seats are reserved for various categories in all the Institutions under the Symbiosis International (Deemed University) following the UGC guidelines 2006. The seats are reserved based on the following criteria:

Within Sanctioned Intake

The criteria can be understood with the following points:

• 15% seats for the Scheduled Caste (SC)
• 7.5% seats for the Scheduled Tribes (ST)
• 3% seats for the Differently Abled students
• 5 % seats in (Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research) for the children / wards of Defence Personnel in the Hons. or Hons. with Research Programs of BCA / BBA (Information Technology).

*For Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT), Pune, the aforementioned reservation criteria (for ST / SC / Differently Abled candidates) within the sanctioned intake is followed along with 5% seats reservation for the NRI candidates.

Some Additional Points to be noted under the “Within Sanctioned Intake” according to the SET Exam eligibility criteria are:

• Students applying through the above mentioned reserved quota must upload the supporting document during registration and produce at the time of Personal Interview for verification.
• Applicants who will apply under the “Children / Wards of Defence Personnel” category in Institutes other than SICSR will be treated as “Open Category” candidates.
• If a student fulfills more than 1 reservation criteria, they are bound to select any of those categories while filling the registration form and he / she will be able to claim the benefits offered under 1 reservation category only.
• Disabilities covered under the “Differently Abled” Quota are Hearing Impairment, Mental Retardation, Dyslexia, Vision Impairment, Locomotors Disabilities, Multiple Disabilities.

Over & Above Intake

Seats reserved under this are as follows:

• 2 seats in each program are reserved for the Kashmiri Migrants and Kashmiri Pandits / Kashmiri Hindu Families living in Kashmiri Valley (Non-Migrants).
• A maximum of 25% seats are reserved for the International candidates.

For SIT, Pune, 2 seats are reserved for the Kashmiri migrants (in seats with a maximum of 10 seats). Additionally, 15% seats are reserved in each program for the OCI / Foreign Nationals / Children of the Indian Workers in Gulf countries.

Reservation Criteria for Nagpur Domicile Candidates

According to the SET Exam Eligibility Criteria 2025, the reservation criteria for the candidates belonging to the Nagpur Domicile in Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies (SCMS), Nagpur and SIT, Nagpur are:

• 25% seats are reserved for the students having Nagpur Domicile.
• Such candidates must have been residents of Nagpur Urban for 5 continuous / intermittent years.
• Educational Criteria is that the Nagpur domicile need to fulfil is given below:
  • Graduate / Postgraduate from Nagpur University

OR

Passed 10^th Standard / 12^th Standard from Maharashtra Board / CBSE / CISCE / ICSE.
