NMAT is a computer based test which is going to be conducted between the 45 days test window that is from November to December 2024. Candidates appearing for the exam should follow guidelines specified by the GMAC to avoid any sort of inconvenience on the test day.
This article includes all the important do’s and don’ts which should be followed by the candidates to have a smooth experience during the NMAT exam.
On the NMAT exam day, the candidates must follow the following details regarding exam dress code prescribed by the authorities:
- Female candidates should neglect wearing clothes with multiple layers, tube tops, sleepwear, and long sleeved tops. They should prefer wearing clothes like simple tops, kurtis, jeans, leggings, etc.
- Male candidates are advised to wear clothes like shirts, t-shirts, jeans, pants, etc. Furthermore, clothes like sendo’s, hoodies, full-sleeves shirts are prohibited to wear at the exam centre.
- Only sandals, formal shoes, and slippers are allowed at the NMAT exam centre.
GMAC has released the guidelines that should be followed by the candidates to avoid problems on the exam day; the details of the same are as follows:
- After the NMAT 2024 exam registration, candidates must download the NMAT 2024 Admit Card and check the necessary information like candidate’s name, roll number, test time & location.
- Candidates must carry the printed copy of admit card at the exam centre for verification purposes.
- On the exam day, candidates should bring any one of the following valid ID proofs:
- Aadhaar Card
- Voter ID Card
- Pan Card
- Driving Licence
- Passport
- Aspirants must check the estimated travel time to reach the NMAT exam centre prior to the test day.
- Test takers should reach the exam centre 45 minutes earlier than the prescribed time mentioned on their confirmation email.
- Candidates are advised to check the room number, seating arrangement, and allotted computer as per their roll number before they enter the exam hall.
- Electronic devices like calculators, smart watches, and phones are not allowed in the exam hall.
- At the NMAT exam centre, students are requested to keep their important things like wallets, mobile phones, smart watches etc. inside the locker.
Following are the key points that candidates have to remember for the NMAT 2024 exam:
- Applicants should not sign the admit card before entering the exam hall. Any type of mark on the admit card can disqualify them from the exam.
- Test takers should not communicate with their fellow candidates during the exam. In case of any query, they should raise their concern with the exam invigilator.
- Test takers are not allowed to carry their own rough sheets in the exam hall as these are provided by the authorities once the test starts. After completion of the exam, the sheets must be submitted to the invigilator before leaving the hall.
- Students are not permitted to leave the exam hall between the test period.
- Parents, guardians or friends accompanying candidates are not allowed to enter the exam centre.
NMAT 2024 Guidelines for Persons with Disability
Specially abled students who wish to participate in NMAT 2024 must scan their disability certificate and registration application to avail any of the following facility:
- Candidates can choose to give the exam from the test centre as MeritTrac will connect with the applicants for scheduling his / her preferred test centre, date, and time.
- Test takers can give the exam through the remote proctored mode and access the exam link on the candidate dashboard from their home.
Here are the some guidelines for specially abled home-based test taking candidates:
- Candidates are required to use their own computers / laptops to start the exam. They are prohibited to use official computers or any public systems like cybercafés, etc.
- It is necessary for the test takers to download the “Zoom” app before the test.
- In case of any technical issue during the exam, the proctor will assist candidates to download the required software for the test. Apart from that, if there is any other problem, then the authorities will analyse the issue and candidates are provided with an alternative time slot for the exam.
- Original ID proofs are required during the exam.
