Scheduling the exam is must once the candidates are done with submitting their application forms successfully. NMAT is conducted by GMAC within a test window of 45-days. After checking the test-window dates, candidates have to schedule their exam for which a preferred exam date along with a chosen test centre needs to be submitted.
To schedule the exam, first candidates need to log in to the official portal of NMAT exam. Login needs to be done with the official e-mail ID and password. The candidates who schedule their exam date and centre successfully are allowed to appear for NMAT.

To make the preparation effective, it is important for the candidates to understand the exam pattern. The exam will be held online in a CBT mode which means it is a computer-based test. It will be divided into three sections with 36 questions each. All the sections including Language skills, Quantitative skills, and Logical reasoning will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The candidates will have 2 hours to complete the test and 108 questions will be asked overall. Candidates must know that there will be no negative marking for any section in NMAT 2024 exam.

The official authorities have set certain guidelines / requirements which the candidates need to adhere to on the exam day. These requirements are related to the dress code & protocols they need to follow inside the exam hall, the documents they must carry for verification, etc.

No electronic devices must be carried inside the exam hall. These include smart watches, mobile phones, calculators, etc.
Candidates should not take any personal belongings like a bag, wallet, etc. inside the hall; these must be kept in the lockers or outside the examination hall.

NMAT cut-off refers to the marks candidates need to pass the test and to take admission in MBA or PGDM programs in top Business Schools like NMIMS. Different B schools set their own NMAT cut-off and take admissions on its basis. The usual cut-off range is between 150 – 250 scores.

Once the candidates qualify the NMAT 2024, they must proceed to Counselling for admissions in NMIMS or other top Business Schools. During the counselling process, candidates need to go through GD - Group Discussions and PI - Personal Interviews.
The counselling process of every Business School may be different. Some schools may conduct a CD - Case Discussion instead of a GD - Group Discussion, or may also conduct a Writing Ability Test (WAT) for admission in MBA or PGDM programs. Business Schools will take the tests but most of them will take the final decision on the basis of candidates’ NMAT 2024 exam scores.
