NMAT Exam 2024: Registration, Date, Eligibility, Syllabus, and More

NMAT 2024 is a National-level exam for the candidates who wish to take admissions in the MBA program of NMIMS or other top Business Schools in India & abroad. GMAC, the exam conducting body, has closed the registration window for NMAT 2024. The NMAT Admit Card 2024 will be available 7 days before the actual test date on the exam’s official website. From October to December every year, GMAC conducts NMAT in a 45-days window wherein the candidates are allowed to attempt the exam three times.

NMAT 2024 is an entrance exam for students aspiring to complete their MBA or PGDM from one of the top Business schools like NMIMS. To apply for the exam, the candidates must fall under the below-mentioned NMAT 2024 eligibility criteria.

The eligibility criteria for NMAT by GMAC is the same as last year. Candidates must know that there is no age limit to apply for NMAT 2024 exam. Also, International students can apply for the exam.

The registration process for NMAT 2024 will commence from 1st  August 2024. It is important to know that registration for NMAT 2024 can be done online only. No offline registration is available for this exam.

The candidates must follow below-given steps while filling the NMAT Application form 2024:

• Step 1: Visit the official website of NMAT that is register.nmat.org.
• Step 2: Navigate the ‘Register Now’ option.
• Step 3: Create an account by filling in all the required details like candidate’s name, contact number, E-mail ID to create your account.
• Step 4: Once the account is created, you will receive login credentials in the inbox of your registered E-mail ID.
• Step 5: Access the NMAT 2024 form on the official website and login using received credentials.
• Step 6: Fill in all the required details.
• Step 7: Upload the required documents in the specified formats.
• Step 8: Complete your application by paying the fee using your preferred mode of payment.

The exam dates for NMAT 2024 exam are given below:

Scheduling the exam is must once the candidates are done with submitting their application forms successfully. NMAT is conducted by GMAC within a test window of 45-days. After checking the test-window dates, candidates have to schedule their exam for which a preferred exam date along with a chosen test centre needs to be submitted.

To schedule the exam, first candidates need to log in to the official portal of NMAT exam. Login needs to be done with the official e-mail ID and password. The candidates who schedule their exam date and centre successfully are allowed to appear for NMAT.

Candidates who are eligible to apply for NMAT by GMAC can register / apply for the exam to get their admit cards. Candidates can appear for the exam only when they have the issued admit card. To get the admit card, candidates need to follow the below-listed process:

• Visit the official website of NMAT i.e., register.nmat.org.
• Navigate the ‘Candidate Login’ link and login with accurate credentials (registered email ID and password).
• Look for the ‘NMAT 2024 admit card’ option and click on the link.
• Download the NMAT admit card and take a printout for further use.

GMAC issues the exam centre list of NMAT 2024 on the official portal. Candidates are allowed to appear for the exam at any of their chosen exam centers.

To make the preparation effective, it is important for the candidates to understand the exam pattern. The exam will be held online in a CBT mode which means it is a computer-based test. It will be divided into three sections with 36 questions each. All the sections including Language skills, Quantitative skills, and Logical reasoning will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The candidates will have 2 hours to complete the test and 108 questions will be asked overall. Candidates must know that there will be no negative marking for any section in NMAT 2024 exam.

Qualifying NMAT 2024 is not easy; candidates must study well to prepare for the exam. Below-given are some tips for candidates to make their preparation better:

• Go through the NMAT 2024 syllabus to get the idea of topics.
• Make a time-table in a way that helps you cover all the topics from Syllabus.
• Try to take out more time for difficult topics and prepare them well.
• Get an understanding of the exam and solve last few years’ question papers.
• Don’t forget to take NMAT 2024 mock tests.

The official authorities have set certain guidelines / requirements which the candidates need to adhere to on the exam day. These requirements are related to the dress code & protocols they need to follow inside the exam hall, the documents they must carry for verification, etc. 

A few NMAT 2024 Exam Day Guidelines the candidates must follow are listed below:

• No electronic devices must be carried inside the exam hall. These include smart watches, mobile phones, calculators, etc.

• Candidates should not take any personal belongings like a bag, wallet, etc. inside the hall; these must be kept in the lockers or outside the examination hall.

• Required documents must be carried for verification, like a printed admit card & a valid photo ID.

To help the candidates with their NMAT exam preparation, Graduate Management Admission Council releases an official mock test on its website. The mock test series provided by GMAC is effective for candidates to practise for NMAT. Also, the mock tests enhance the candidates’ familiarity with the exam pattern and questions. NMAT cut-off refers to the marks candidates need to pass the test and to take admission in MBA or PGDM programs in top Business Schools like NMIMS. Different B schools set their own NMAT cut-off and take admissions on its basis. The usual cut-off range is between 150 – 250 scores.

Below given is a list of expected NMAT 2024 cut-off for separate sections:

• For Logical Reasoning, the expected cut-off is 79+ score.
• For Quantitative Skills, expected NMAT 2024 cut-off is 73+ score.
• For Language Skills, the expected cut-off is 85+ score.

According to the expected cut-off for the above three sections of NMAT 2024, the overall cut-off may be around 205 to 250 score.

As the candidates complete their test, after 48 hours, GMAC declares their result. The results are declared on the official website in the form of a scorecard by GMAC.

• Access the official website of NMAT.
• Navigate the login link.
• Enter the accurate credentials - registered email ID and password.
• Click on the NMAT 2024 Scorecard link as you access the dashboard.
• Download your NMAT Scorecard and take a printout for future use.

Once the candidates qualify the NMAT 2024, they must proceed to Counselling for admissions in NMIMS or other top Business Schools. During the counselling process, candidates need to go through GD - Group Discussions and PI - Personal Interviews.

The counselling process of every Business School may be different. Some schools may conduct a CD - Case Discussion instead of a GD - Group Discussion, or may also conduct a Writing Ability Test (WAT) for admission in MBA or PGDM programs. Business Schools will take the tests but most of them will take the final decision on the basis of candidates’ NMAT 2024 exam scores.

• 10^th and 12^th Mark sheets
• Degree Certificate

• Provision passing certificate (if Degree is not available).

• AIU Certificate (applicable for candidates who have done graduation from abroad universities).

• Work experience Certificate with salary slips and bank statement.
