As per the NIFT Exam Pattern 2025, the entrance exam will be conducted via Offline Paper Based Test (PBT) & Online Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. For B.Des / M.Des:
Students opting for the B.Des / M.Des program for the NIFT Entrance Exam have to attempt 2 exams. The GAT (Section A) paper will be conducted for a period of 120 minutes & the CAT paper for 180 minutes, respectively.

In accordance with the NIFT exam pattern 2025, students with one of the benchmark disabilities [as defined in Section 2(r) of RPwD Act, 2016], holding a Disability Certificate in the prescribed format will be permitted to avail the scribe facilities as per the following conditions:
Compensatory Time
The compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour will be given to the PwD applicants whether or not they have availed the scribe facilities.
For instance, if the exam period is of 3 hours, then 1 hour compensatory time shall be given to the PwD candidates. If the exam duration is less / more than 3 hours then the compensatory time will be given accordingly.

According to the updated NIFT 2025 exam pattern, there will be 2 papers conducted i.e., GAT- General Ability Test in CBT mode & the CAT-Creative Ability Test in PBT mode.
According to the NIFT exam pattern 2025, GAT (Section A & Section B) paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English). However, students have to answer the questions in the language that they have opted for during NIFT registration.
According to the NIFT entrance exam pattern 2025, candidates will be allotted 1 mark for every correct response and -1 mark deduction will be done for each incorrect answer. There is no negative marking for the un-attempted questions.
The NIFT 2025 entrance exam will be conducted in 1 session for the B.F.Tech, M.F.M, M.F.Tech programs and in 2 sessions for the B.Des, B.F.Tech & BDS, M.Des, M.F.M, M.Des courses.
According to the NIFT exam 2025 pattern, the questions of the GAT (Section A & Section B) paper will be asked as Multiple Choice Questions wherein each question will have 4 responses out of which only 1 option will be correct.
