Aspirants willing to take admissions in MS / MD / PGDM / Post MBBS DNB / NBEMS Diploma / Direct 6 year DrNB Programs must meet the NEET PG eligibility criteria 2025 in order to attempt the exam. NEET PG is a National Level Entrance Examination that is accepted in all the Private Medical Colleges / Institutions / Universities & the Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions of India.

Academic Qualification
Aspirants must have qualified MBBS Degree / other equivalent Medical Degree that is recognised by NMC to be eligible for appearing in the NEET PG exam.
Internship
Students should have completed 1-year of compulsory rotatory Internship on / before the date prescribed by the NBEMS.
Registration
Aspirants must have obtained a permanent / provisional Registration Certificate of MBBS issued by NMC - National Medical Commission (formerly known as MCI - Medical Council of India) / State Medical Council.
Nationality
Aspirants who are Indian Nationals, Non Resident Indians (NRI), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), and Non-OCI Foreign Nationals are eligible to appear for the NEET PG 2025 entrance exam.
* The competent authority has not prescribed any qualifying marks & age criteria for the NEET PG exam.

Post MBBS DNB, Direct 6 Year DrNB and NBEMS Diploma Courses
- Candidates must have completed MBBS / should have a Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate, recognised by NMC.
- Students must additionally fulfil the Internship & Registration criteria that is mentioned above in this article.
* Students who are already pursuing DNB / Direct 6-year DrNB Programs are not eligible to take admission in the DNB / Direct 6-year DrNB course until they have completed the entire period of the enrolled course even if they have resigned / discontinued the particular program.
NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2025: Reservation Criteria
According to the NEET PG eligibility criteria 2025, there are certain reservation policies specified for the students. The reservation criteria is as follows:
- Students qualifying the NEET PG Exam will be allotted seats according to the reservation rules set by the Indian Government and the respective State Government.
- The OCI - Overseas Citizens of India Card Holders will be valued equal to the Indian candidates & will be eligible for admission under the General (UR) Category and the NRI Quota seats.
- NRI students will be offered admission through the NRI seats & the Indian National seats based on their merit.
- The NRI / PIO / OCI candidates will be treated as Unreserved & they will not be given any reservation under the ST / SC / OBC / EWS categories.
- According to the central list of OBC, only the OBC-NCL (Non-Creamy Layer) students will be offered reservation seats under this category in All India 50% quota seats.
NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2025: Special Points to Consider
There are certain guidelines given on the official NEET PG eligibility criteria 2025 that the students should be aware of, in order to avoid cancellation of their Application Form / Admission:
- If applicants do not meet the NEET PG exam eligibility criteria / fail to produce proof at any stage of the process, they will be considered ineligible & will not be allowed to process further for the NEET PG 2025 examination / counselling. Even if they have passed the NEET PG exam 2025, their result will be cancelled.
- Students who have not completed the internship before the specified deadline / hold a qualification that is not recognised by NMC, will be rejected.
- Some Colleges / Institutions / Universities have a rule that candidates who are already pursuing a PG Program will not be eligible to take admission in the same & other College / Institute / University through the All India Quota / State Quota till they have completed the course they are enrolled in.
