MET Exam Pattern 2025: Marking Scheme, Exam Day Requirements & Total Marks

The Manipal Entrance Test is held Online in CBT mode and consists of 2 types of questions in the exam paper including MCQs and NAT, according to the MET exam pattern 2025. The exam of MET is conducted in English medium only and contains a total of 60 questions. Students must understand the exam pattern well in order to avoid any confusion and to prepare well for the test.

In accordance with the MET exam 2025 pattern, the test is conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode at the respective exam centres. The students must note that the exam will be conducted for a total of 240 marks for B.Tech and 400 marks for BBA. There will be 60 questions included in the test paper for B.Tech which will be further segregated into 4 sections. For BBA, there will be 100 questions, categorised into 5 sections.

The exam authorities have prescribed the MET exam 2025 pattern for BBA course on the basis of which it includes 5 sections which are as follows:

* The students preparing on the basis of the exam pattern must ensure that they satisfy the MET Eligibility Criteria 2025 and complete registration on time.

The Manipal Entrance Test is conducted by MAHE - Manipal Academy of Higher Education; the authorities have specified the marking criteria to assess the candidates’ performance in the exam.

The MET marking scheme is as follows:

• 4 marks are awarded for every correct answer
• -1 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer (only applicable for MCQs)

Note: It is to be noted that no negative marking is applicable for unanswered questions in the exam (both B.Tech and BBA).

Below-given are some essential points which students need to consider regarding MET paper pattern 2025:

• MET is conducted for admission into various courses such as B.Tech, B.Pharm, BBA, B.Sc (Biotechnology / Nursing), M.Sc (Clinical Psychology / Data Science), and many more programs. Students will need to prepare as per the course specific MET exam pattern 2025 according to the program for which they are applying for in any of the participating Institutes.
• The exam duration for the exam papers of all courses is 120 minutes (2 hours) except for M.Sc Clinical Psychology and M.Sc Data Science. For these two courses, the exam duration is only 60 minutes.

Here are some additional points candidates need to consider during the examination:

• Once the students start working on a particular section, they need to finish it before moving to the next section. It is because students are allowed to visit every section only once. They cannot re-visit the previous section (for unanswered, answered, or partially answered questions) under any circumstances.
• To save an answer while solving the exam paper, students must click on the ‘Save & Next’ button to move forward in the same section.
• If the candidates want to mark a question for review, they need to click on the ‘Mark for Review & Next’ button. By clicking on this button, that particular question will be highlighted in Purple color.
• To deselect an answer, the students need to choose the ‘Clear Response’ option.
• To move to the next section in the exam, students must click on the ‘Submit’ button.

The MET Syllabus 2025 varies on the basis of courses opted by the students. For B.Tech, the syllabus comprises 4 subjects including Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and English. It is to be noted that the MET exam pattern 2025 for the B.Tech program is based on its subjects and topics included in the syllabus. Similarly, for all other programs, the exam paper will be based on their syllabus prescribed by the authorities.

For BBA, the syllabus includes 5 sections namely, Numeracy, Conceptual, English, General Awareness / General Knowledge, and Reading Comprehension. These sections / subjects comprise further topics & sub-topics.

The exam conducting body (MAHE) has not released the MET 2025 syllabus yet; it will be released soon. Till then, the students can refer to the past year syllabus.
