The eligibility criteria of JEE Advanced 2025 comprises some measures decided by the exam conducting body that must be checked and fulfilled by the applicants before registration procedure. The common eligibility requirements for both Indian and Foreign Nationals in order to appear for JEE Advanced exam 2025 are as follows:
Minimum Educational Qualification
As per the JEE Advanced eligibility criteria 2025, candidates can qualify any one of the below-given exams that are considered equivalent to 12th standard.

The conducting body of JEE Advanced 2025 has prescribed the eligibility criteria which is required to appear for the examination. The eligibility for Indian Nationals and OCI / PIO candidates is divided into 5 criteria that are below-discussed in detail:
Criteria A1: JEE Main 2025 Performance
The appearing candidates of JEE Advanced 2025 must have secured a rank among top 2,50,000 candidates in JEE Main 2025 in B.E / B.Tech Paper I. There is category-wise distribution of top 2,50,000 candidates who are shortlisted in the following major 6 categories (as per the division on the basis of percentage):

Criteria A3: Number of Attempts
Criteria A4: Appearance in 12th or equivalent qualifying examination
Criteria A5: Earlier Admission at IIT
* OCI/PIO candidates shall be required to be in Open and Open-PwD rank lists in JEE (Main) 2025 to appear for JEE Advanced 2025.
Note: Along with the above-mentioned criteria, the candidates also need to fulfil all the criteria from A1 to A4.
There are total 4 eligibility criteria that are discussed in this section which the Foreign Nationals and OCI / PIO candidates need to fulfil:
Criteria B1: Age Limit
* In countries where the minimum time period in the armed or allied forces is mandatory before / after the 12th or equivalent exam, the candidate will get a relaxation of the required number of years. For such conditions, the candidate has to upload a Certificate / Testimonial issued by the competent authority at the time of registration.
Note: The Criteria B2 (Number of attempts), Criteria B3 (Appearance in Class 12th (or equivalent) Examination) and Criteria B4 (Earlier admission at IIT) are similar to the above mentioned criteria from A3 to A5.
Special Notes to Consider:
Candidates who are not citizens of India by birth or naturalised (but not OCI / PIO candidates who have secured the card before 04.03.2021) shall be considered under Foreign Nationals.
Such candidates are not required to appear for JEE (Main) 2025 to register in JEE Advanced 2025. They can apply / register directly and must fulfil the eligibility criteria.
The following are some reservation guidelines for the candidates appearing for JEE Advanced 2025:
* The (GEN / EWS /OBC / NCL / SC / ST) candidates will not be eligible for any kind of reservation benefits (except OPEN PwD).
