IMU CET Eligibility Criteria 2025: Check Nationality, Age Limit, Aggregate Score & Qualifications

Students desiring to apply for the entrance exam must have passed the qualifying examination in the respective stream as per the IMU CET Eligibility Criteria 2025. The Indian Maritime University (IMU) i.e., the exam conducting body set the IMU CET exam eligibility criteria.

In this article, the detailed IMU CET eligibility criteria 2025 is available which includes minimum educational qualifications, qualifying marks, age limit, reservation criteria, and many other aspects.

The IMU CET is an All India Entrance Examination conducted for admission in B.Tech, B.Sc, DNS, MBA, and M.Tech programs in different specialisations offered by the Indian Maritime University (IMU) and its affiliated colleges.

To appear in the IMU CET 2025 exam which will be held possibly in the 2^nd Week of June 2025, it is mandatory for the students to verify the eligibility criteria mentioned-below:

Academic Qualifications

For admission in PG programs, students must have a Passed Bachelors Degree or any other equivalent examination in the relevant discipline.

From the below-given conditions, candidates should have passed or appearing in any 1 of the qualifying examinations for admission in UG programs:

• Class 12^th / 10 + 2.
• Intermediate / 2 year Pre-University examination (PUC).
• General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/ Cambridge/ Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
• High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
• H.S.C Vocational Examination
• Any Public School / Board / University examination in India or in any foreign Country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
• A Diploma recognised by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education of at least 3-year duration. (Applicable only for Lateral Entry Admissions).

Age Limit

Students need to satisfy the age limit criteria as per the course they are applying in through IMU CET.

Nationality

Aspirants must hold an Indian Citizenship.

* To get admission in IMU campuses and its affiliated colleges, it is important for the students to pass the course-wise IMU CET eligibility criteria 2025 they are applying in, apart from the minimum educational requirements.

The students have to fulfill the below-given eligibility criteria to get admission in B.Tech in Marine Engineering program and B.Sc in Nautical Science course through the IMU CET exam:

* Transgenders are eligible for admission in B.Tech courses.

Note: During the admission process, students should know that they have to submit the medical fitness certificate issued by the doctors and approved by the Directorate General of Shipping.

Students seeking admission in 2 year MBA program in International Transportation and Logistics Management discipline through IMU CET exam 2025 need to qualify the eligibility conditions below-described in the table:

The IMU CET qualified candidates who desire to secure admission in a 2 year M.Tech program in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering discipline need to verify the below-given eligibility conditions:

• Engineering Graduate in Mechanical / Civil / Marine / Naval Architecture / B.Tech (Fisheries Engineering) or equivalent with at least 55% in aggregate marks.

Note: Candidates with GATE Scores in Marine Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Naval Architecture / Civil discipline are exempted from the IMU CET exam. However, preference will be given to candidates with IMU-CET ranks.

* Apart from the above-mentioned educational requirements, candidates are also required to meet the additional eligibility conditions including the age limit, relaxation criteria, medical fitness criteria which are as same as mentioned-above in the MBA course.

For admission in IMU campuses, eligible and IMU CET qualified candidates are provided with reservation; the details of the same are as follows:

* During the admission process, candidates are required to submit the category certificate in the prescribed format. If the certificate is not submitted in the specified format, it will be rejected and no further communication about this will be entertained.

Below-given points are specifying who is not eligible to appear in the IMU CET exam:

• Candidates who will be appearing in the qualifying examination after the IMU CET exam date will not be able to register for the entrance test.
• It should be noted that “Improvement Candidates” which refers to the students who have obtained less than 60% marks in Class 12^th with PCM and have appeared in the examination again and qualified in order to improve their score, will not be considered eligible for the IMU CET exam.
• “Compartmental Candidates” that are the students who have failed in one or more subjects in 10 + 2 and have appeared in the exam again & passed but they have changed the Board (e.g., from CBSE to NIOS), such candidates will not be eligible to appear in the IMU CET 2025 examination. These aspirants must have re-appeared in the examination with the same board they have appeared previously in order to be eligible for the test.
• Aspirants who have passed the qualifying examination through part time / distance learning / correspondence course / any combination of these are not eligible for the exam.

Candidates planning to apply for the entrance exam should go through the below-given special points related to IMU CET exam eligibility criteria 2025:

• Aspirants seeking admission in the residential program should know that it is mandatory for them to stay in Hostel which will be provided by the IMU campuses to pursue such courses, after qualifying the IMU CET exam.
• If the qualifying examination is not a public exam, in such a case, students must have passed a minimum 1 public (Board or Pre-University) examination at an earlier level.
• Foreign Nationals can seek admission in any of the IMU campuses under UG and PG courses through “Direct Admission to students from Abroad (DASA) Scheme” of the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

After satisfying the IMU CET eligibility criteria 2025, candidates will be able to proceed with the registration and application process. The IMU CET Registration 2025 will be started expectedly in the 4^th Week of March 2025 and will continue till the 2^nd Week of May 2025 (tentative).

Once the form will be released, candidates will be able to register online on “imu.cbexams.com” for the IMU CET exam 2025. After registration, students need to fill in the details of the application form and upload the required documents in specified format. At last, aspirants have to pay the specified examination fee for the completion of the application process.
