Academic Qualification
The academic criteria required for IIT JAM is given-below:

- No lower or upper age limit.
Nationality
Following is the Nationality criteria for IIT JAM 2025:
- Both Indian and Non-Indian / Foreign Citizens. NRIs need to have an Indian Degree to be eligible for the exam.
*Candidates outside India must satisfy the rules and regulations of the institute in which they desire to seek admission.

IIT JAM Eligibility Criteria 2025: Reservation
There are certain numbers of seats for candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC-NCL / EWS / PwD categories. A requisite and valid certificate must be submitted by the candidates to avail reservation benefits at the time of admission.
*For PwD candidates, it is necessary to have a minimum of 40% of specified disability to get admission on reserved seats. A disability certificate / Unique Disability Identification (UDID) certificate must be submitted by PwD candidates.
