Regular MBA program is a full time course where a student has to maintain his desired attendance (usually 75%) and submits all the projects and presentations, complete their internships and finally sit for placement.
Part time MBA or Executive MBA program is basically for those who want to continue their job and pursue their post graduation in management at the same time. This course is for those who have at least 2 years of work experience.
Distance MBA has recently become more popular as it is an easy option for those who can’t relocate to other states due to unavailability of colleges in their own state or city. Also, it is cheaper than the regular MBA so it has become a more flexible option for the students. The Distance Education Board and the University Grant Commission of India has given equal weightage to the distance MBA and regular MBA.
The admission to MBA program is directly based on the National and State level entrance examinations. The admission process is different for all the institutes, universities and colleges. For IIMs, CAT is mandatory to qualify. There are many national and college-level examinations held every year.
