In 1921, Harcourt Butler Technical University was established as Harcourt Butler Technological Institute in Kanpur. Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University - DBRAU Agra was formerly known by the name Agra University when it was founded in 1927. It was renamed as Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University in 1995. The university has its jurisdiction over seven districts of Agra: Division Agra, Mainpuri, Firozabad, Aligarh, Mathura, Etah and Hathras. Presently, there are approx 200 colleges affiliated with this university. It was declared a State University by UGC, and is accredited by NAAC with “B” grade.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management was established in 1997. It was set up by the Government of India, MHRD as an autonomous institute. It was started as IIITM and in 2002 the institute was renamed as ABV-IIITM. University of Agricultural Sciences - UAS Bangalore has its existence since 1964. However, the history of the university dates back to 1899 with the establishment of an experimental farm at Hebbal. The farm was upgraded to an agricultural school in 1913 which later transformed into Mysore Agricultural College in 1946. The university is approved by UGC with the State University status.

Currently, the university is running its courses through six campuses operating under it. The main objective of UAS Bangalore is to provide agricultural education suitable to the growing and changing demands of the society. It works to develop technologies to find solutions to the farmers’ problems and increase agricultural production.

However, the existence of the university dates back to 15^th August 1951 when it was known by the name M.B.M. Engineering College.
