Jaipur’s Poornima College of Engineering (PCEJ), affiliated to Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) came into existence in 2000 with the objective of promoting pragmatic engineering education. During the past two decades; PCEJ has reached new pinnacles and set benchmarks in technical education with perseverance, dedication, and devotion. Its achievements are appropriately symbolized by its motto; success is not a destination but a journey.
It is the first private engineering institution in Rajasthan, which is accredited by TCS for on and off-campus placements. IBM has acknowledged the institute as a centre of excellence, and it also functions as a nodal study centre of IIT-K/M/B. The institute has partnered with EDC to promote entrepreneurship instinct among the outgoing wards. Several projects of PCEJ are funded by AICTE and DST-Rajasthan. Numerous workshop and seminars are regularly organized on emerging technologies, and the college has completed filing for eight patents.

History of PCEJ
The Poornima Group began its humble journey about two decades ago in 2000 when PCEJ was set up. Poornima Group of Colleges (PGC) was born with the objective of promoting quality technical and professional education, and today PGC is acknowledged as the most renowned group imparting higher and technical education in the pink city.
Poornima Foundation is publicized by the Shanti Education Society (SES) that was formed in 1999. Manohar Lal Singhi and Late Arun Chandra Singhi are the chairman & founding member and vice-chairman & founding member respectively. The primary aim of SES is to popularize professional and technical education with utmost academic integrity and state-of-art facilities in the land of camels and colourful turbans, arid deserts and flying kites, and fortsand citadels. Reputed architect Ar. Shashikant Singhi functions as the secretary of SES and other society members are also well-known in their respective fields.
Under the aegis of chairman-emeritus Dr. S.M. Seth, PGC has continuously evolved and has secured its place among all the technical colleges in Rajasthan. Backed by latest infrastructure, the institutes under the PGC umbrella are spread over a whopping one million square metre of the sprawling campus. Presently ten thousand students are enrolled in various degree courses, and among them, three thousand pupils stay on campus.
The constituent colleges of PGC nurture an active culture of extensive research initiatives in science, technology, and engineering. The group successfully bagged many government projects worth more than ten million rupees.
What differentiates PGC from other institutions in Rajasthan, is its commitment to unparalleled and industry-relevant education, while fostering an environment for socio-cultural in the premises and sensitizing the wards about the pressing issues of the contemporary world.

Lodging:
PCEJ provides separate hostel accommodation for men and women, which are situated in the close vicinity of the campus. Each hostel has semi-furnished spacious rooms, which are indeed a home away from home. All the hostels are equipped with all the modern amenities like water coolers, Wi-Fi, purified drinking water, STD/IDD phones, facilities for indoor and outdoor games,etc. The residents can make good use of gym and playground in their leisure time. The boarders can access the following facilities in the hostels.

Food
The mess provides nutritious vegetable meals to all hostellers, commuter students, faculties, staffs, and visitors. It serves four meals every day; namely, breakfast, lunch, evening bites, and dinner. The food is prepared under stringent hygienic conditions and served in the dining hall. Note that the mess operates in self-service mode.
The cafeteria provides tea, coffee, milk, and various snacks.
Emergency care
The hostels have first aid boxes and medical rooms/sick beds to cope with any unforeseen circumstances. The Mahatma Gandhi hospital is barely a stone’s throw from the hostels,and three ambulances are always put on standby for each of the hostels.

The students residing in all the four hostels celebrate the annual fest with great pomp and grandeur.

Safety

Best Courses Offered at PCEJ
PCEJ considers only JEE-main/REAP (erstwhile RPET) scores for admission to its bachelors and masters degree courses.
- B.Tech (CE/IT/ECE/EE/ME/Civil): It is a four years undergraduate degree programme spread over eight academic semesters. A pass in 10+2 (Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology) with 45% (5% relaxation for SC/ST) or more in these three papers taken together and JEE-main/REAP (erstwhile RPET) qualified candidates are eligible to apply.
- Lateral B.Tech (CE/IT/ECE/EE/ME/Civil): It is a three years undergraduate degree programme spread over six academic semesters. B.Sc. and polytechnic pass candidates having 45% (5% relaxation for SC/ST) or more in aggregate are eligible to apply. Admission is made on a merit basis,andthe entire process is handled by BTER.
- M.Tech (CS/VLSI/Software Engg/Power System/Digital Communication/Production Engg): It is a two years postgraduate degree programme spread over four academic semesters. Graduate engineers with 55% (5% relaxation for SC/ST) or more are eligible to apply. Admission is made on a merit basis as per guidelines stipulated by the RTU.
Placements
When it comes to the question of placement records, PCEJ has consistently secured the top position for many years among private colleges in Rajasthan. Its graduates are successfully working in high-paying plum jobs in the government as well as private sector. Mining and offering all the necessary information, guidance, advice, and support for the outgoing students is the primary responsibility of the placement cell. The TPO, i.e., Training and Placement Office has separate conference/training enclosures and counseling/interview rooms. The TPO oversees the following objectives.
- Organizing campus interviews for eligible students
- Orienting the students for the recruitment process by conducting aptitude tests, preparing for technical and HR rounds, and arranging mock group discussion sessions
- Inviting senior corporate employees for guest lectures
