Mr Arsh Dhaliwal, Managing Director, Chandigarh Groups of College, Jhanjeri, has a passion for environment sustainability, which is reflected on his efforts on the campus, with the college organizing impactful tree plantation drives on a regular basis.
Recently, under the leadership of Mr Arsh Dhaliwal, a plantation drive, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from the entire CGC Jhanjeri community — students, faculty, and staff, was organized on the CGC Jhanjeri campus. The CGC family united to plant 300 saplings, symbolizing collective effort and solidarity in the battle against climate change.
The initiative, which resonates profoundly with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, saw plantation of saplings across the campus.
Leading from the front, Mr Arsh Dhaliwal planted saplings and motivated fellow colleagues, faculty, staff and students to follow suit. Mr Arsh Dhaliwal highlighted the critical role of tree plantation in mitigating climate change and fostering ecological equilibrium. He said the drive echoed the core values of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative.

“Planting saplings is a noble cause as it is like giving someone life. Trees are a savior of the planet at the time of industrialization and rapid urbanization. Managing Director of Chandigarh Groups of College, Jhanjeri, Mr Arsh Dhaliwal believes that the sky is the limit and has been at the forefront of revolutionizing the educational landscape. With his round-the-clock efforts, CGC Jhanjeri unveiled Innovation and Joint Skill Development Centre, a state-of-the-art automobile lab, on August 6. The lab has been developed in partnership with Ashok Leyland.
It is Mr Arsh Dhaliwal’s vision to prepare students as per the requirement of the job market. His objective is to get students market-ready. Taking a step forward towards his vision, an event was organized on the CGC Jhanjeri campus in the esteemed presence of Mr. Devakaruppaiah B, National Service Head of Ashok Leyland, S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman, and Mr. Arsh Dhaliwal. Two fully-specified Ashok Leyland trucks were unveiled, showcasing the real-world applications for students.
Mr Arsh Dhaliwal inspires the faculty and staff for fostering creative and innovative aspirations among students. The event was a powerful affirmation of CGC Jhanjeri’s commitment to innovation and skill development.

Talking of the facilities and resources, MD of CGC Jhanjeri Mr Arsh Dhaliwal said, “Ashok Leyland has equipped our center with cutting-edge resources to ensure top-notch hands-on training; 8 high-performance engines, allowing students to study advanced engine technologies; a comprehensive assembly line, providing practical experience in assembling and disassembling automotive components; 2 fully-specified Ashok Leyland trucks, offering real-world applications with industry-standard vehicles; and next-generation diagnostic tools and technology, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills.”
