Uttar Pradesh aspires to be recognised as a global AI and IT powerhouse by aligning itself with the aim of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi which is to position India at the forefront of Artificial Intelligence. Chandigarh University conducted “UP AI Synergy Conclave 2025”, this was important step towards realising the vision of the PM. This particular program has made possible to bring together a renowned group of policymakers, industry leaders, AI experts, and academic Institutions to discuss about the scope and future of AI in Nation.
This conclave was graced by reputed personalities which includes UP Minister Kapil Dev Aggarwal, Chandigarh University Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu, and over 30 influential individuals from the world of AI and business. The distinguished participants included Varun Agarwal, Founder of Change Engine; Dr. Shailesh Kumar, Chief Data Scientist at Reliance Jio; and Dr. Abhilasha Gaur, CEO of Nasscom, and others.
Signing of the multiple MOUs among Chandigarh University, Uttar Pradesh and leading Tech companies was one of the major highlights of the event. The purpose behind such agreements was to boost skill development, campus placements, and industry collaborations which ensure that the University lingers at the cutting edge of AI education. Prior to the start of the CU’s 1st academic batch in 2025-26 year, professionals acclaimed the University’s approach to integrating industry insights into its curriculum.

UP Minister Kapil Dev Aggarwal’s Vision for AI-Driven Growth
In the event, the UP Minister Kapil Dev Aggarwal shared insight into the Rs. 2500/- Crore investments in Chandigarh University, Lucknow. According to the UP Minister, this will create extensive opportunities for the students across Uttar Pradesh. Moreover, Kapil Dev Aggarwal emphasised on the PM’s vision for Nation as a global leader in AI by referring to the Prime Minister Engagements at international AI summits in France and the US.
By citing the UP Government collaboration with TATA to enhance skill development, the Minister Aggarwal has expressed hopefulness about Uttar Pradesh’s potential as an AI and technology hub. Additionally, the Minister also highlighted the development of a 170-acre AI hub in Lucknow which will be regarded as a center for technological innovation.
Mr. Aggarwal has reflected on the importance of fostering a skilled workforce in order to accomplish India’s goal of becoming a $5 trillion economy. The Minister has stated that the Chandigarh University, Lucknow as a key player in shaping the state’s AI driven future by developing students with the required skill set for the modern workforce.

The CEO of Nasscom’s IT-ITeS Sector Skill Council, Dr. Abhilasha Gaur pointed India’s path to becoming a global workforce leader by 2047. To accomplish this goal, Dr. Abhilasha Gaur stated that the government is making major investment in skill development along with emphasising on AI and technology for catering to both Domestic and International markets.
Dr. Abhilasha Gaur highlighted the World Economic Forum reports that forecast India will be the 2nd largest workforce globally after the US, underscoring the country’s increasing dominance in IT and AI.
