Film and Television Institute of India, Pune was established in the year 1960 as a Public (Autonomous) Educational Institution. Film and Television Institute of India offers admission in the field of Mass Communications at Diploma/ Certificate level with scholarship benefits to deserving students. Mr. Prashant Patharabe is the Director.
The Film and Television Institute of India started its academic session in 1960. It was founded by the Government of India within the campus of Prabhat Studios, Pune. It was earlier known as Film Institute of India. The institute became an Autonomous Society in 1971 in association with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. It is amongst the best film institute in India in audio-visual media.
FTII has a TV Wing and a Film Wing under which various programs are offered to students. This includes Post Graduate Diploma and Post Graduate Certificate programs. Admissions are offered based on the score of the Joint Entrance Test (JET) and candidate’s performance in Interview / Orientation. Along with this, students must also be medically fit and clear a Medical Test. Students applying for admission in the institute must fulfill the Eligibility Criteria which are as follows:
