RTC BEd College started its educational journey in the year 2008 as a self-financed teacher’s training college. The college functions under Gramvasi Alpsankhyak Vidyavardhini Samiti, a charitable society for welfare. Developing academic integrity and improving quality in the field of teacher education is the goal of this college.
The college is affiliated to Ranchi University, Ranchi and approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). RCT BEd College Ranchi has also been accredited by NAAC. Initially, the college was offering a 2-years B.Ed program at the UG level. Later in 2014, a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) was also introduced.

Admission Process
To take B.Ed admission into the college, students are required to appear for the JCECEB exam conducted by the Jharkhand Government. The test usually takes place in the month of March-April. Please follow the steps given below to apply for this exam:
The authority will release a provisional merit list containing the names of the selected students. On a notified date, the 1st round of online counselling will commence and students must register themselves for it on or before the last date. The counselling is conducted in a total of 3-4 rounds. In this process, students will also have to fill in their choice of courses & colleges. The provisional seat allotment letter will be issued within a few days. Students should physically visit the college for document verification and final admission.

The college offers scholarships to the students to provide them financial help. This allows the students to pursue higher degrees without having to worry about the funds. Reserved category students, students with low family income, or who are physically challenged can avail this aid. The college offers Post-Matric Scholarships (within state) only upon meeting the eligibility criteria.
