I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University has a placement cell that actively works to reach out to renowned companies for the placements of IKGPTU students. There is a corporate relation and alumni department for the benefit of the graduating students of the university. The cell mainly concentrates to place students in reputed companies, NGOs, government organizations as well as private companies. The cell provides support and guidance to all the individuals who are registered with them and they even get free counseling for entrepreneurship and employment. The cell acts as an interface between the visiting companies and the probable candidates who are to appear for the placement interviews. The cell also conducts seminars, conferences, and workshops for the training and learning of the students.

I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University is spread over an area of around 80 acres of land and has a fully Wi-Fi campus and laboratories at the university are fully air-conditioned. And other facilities provided by the university are:

Accommodation Facilities: The University features a hostel as well as guest houses for the guardians of students as well as visiting guests of the university. The hostel buildings of the university are comfortable and secure for the safety of the students staying on the campus of the university. They provide with single and double-occupancy rooms for the students to choose from for their accommodation at the university. And for security reasons, there is always a guard on duty outside the buildings of the hostels. The common rooms at the hotels feature recreational activities, TV, and indoor games.

Medical facilities: For basic first-aid facilities there is a nurse always available in the medical room of the hostels. They are capable of treating any emergency conditions that can appear at any hour in the university. These nurses are trained enough to provide with Para-medical services to the students.

Sports facilities: The sports facilities were made available at the university with the view to increasing participation among the students. The university has sports facilities for swimming, football, cycling, volleyball, hockey, handball, open gym, cricket, tennis, basketball, badminton, TT, chess, and many more to be mentioned. The sports facilities at the university also include a multi-purpose sports complex and a gym with all the modern machines.

Auditorium: The auditorium at the university is named after Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, and has state of the art infrastructure. The auditorium at the university can accommodate approximately 800 individuals at a time. The auditorium was built later and has an outer lining of Agra white stone as well as red sandstone. The auditorium features all the modern technologies including audio and visual tools for organizing different events smoothly.

Computer lab: The computer lab at the university is highly competent in terms of technology, as the software and hardware installed in all the PCs of the lab are the latest. And these help students to acquire all the required skills and training is also provided in the lab for various skills.

Library: The library at the university features more than 22k books and more than 50k digital journals and databases. There are more than 14k theses for the scholars to refer to while doing their own thesis work. The university has subscriptions to more than 120 printed journals including magazines. The library of the university is commonly known as the knowledge resource center and has an independent building that is fully dedicated to the library. The library even has a peaceful reading room which is fully air-conditioned to provide comfort to the students.

Other facilities: The University has a digital library to help out the students with their academic studies. And also features a cafeteria to fulfill the hunger pangs of the students and also acts as a place for the students to entertain themselves.
