The University has two schools of study that offer higher education programs in the academic disciplines of computer applications, management, and engineering. To qualify for any of the offered courses, the student has to meet the basic criterions as specified by SPSU. Additionally, the candidate has to secure the prescribed percentage in the SPSAT examination for securing admission.
The B. Tech (CS & E) program has a four-year academic duration, allowing students to specialize in information security and cloud technology. This undergraduate program in technology approved by AICTE enables students to pick up the basics of machine-level programming and artificial intelligence. Students also imbibe the fundamentals of operating systems, networking, advanced object-oriented programming, e-commerce, cloud computing, EPL, and data mining, etc.
This B. Tech program aims to instill in students the rudiments of mathematics and basic sciences for resolving problems associated with computer science. The pupils acquire the ability to design, apply, and assess a complicated software system. The program serves as the foundation for researching MIS, machine learning, data mining, and artificial intelligence.
A student who wants to apply to this program must secure above 60% in the 10+2 exam in pure science stream. However, the final selection will depend upon the marks achieved by the student in the SPSAT entrance examination.
The curriculum of the four-year B. Tech (EC & CE) program comprises of subjects like software development and interfaces, and advanced electronic systems. Once students are through with this graduate program in engineering, they can apply their knowledge in automation and industrial control engineering, and consumer electronics industry. Students come to know about communication, power electronics, analog & digital electronics, microwave, embedded systems, VLSI instrumentation & control systems.
The eligibility criterions and conditions for this program are the same as those for B. Tech (EC & CE). After students complete the program, they’ll have the capability of applying their wisdom in the designing and fabrication of electronic systems.
The three year MCA program aims to equip students with thorough knowledge about academic aspects and practical applications of computers. The industry-oriented curriculum offers students a robust grounding in applied computer science. The program intends to arm students with skills about a computer system design and development.
Students also develop a good understanding of different software development methods and methodologies. A student needs to be a graduate with mathematics as a compulsory subject either at 10+2 or graduate level. He or she should also have obtained a minimum aggregate score of 50% in the final degree examination.
