MIT School of Management, also known as MITSOM, was established in 1987 by Dr. Vishwanath D Karad to provide high-end education in the field of management to create global leaders and entrepreneurs. The college has a vision of being the face of providing high-quality education in the field of management across the globe. MITSOM Pune is recognized by UGC and approved by the NBA with an affiliation with MIT World Peace University. It is a private university and the very first School in Management and Information Technology. Courses at MITSOM are designed to prepare students to face the challenges of the corporate world. To take admission in the institute, candidates must secure passing marks in the pre-university examination or must hold any degree from an affiliated institution with eligible marks. The institution conducts a personal interview to select eligible students, and 75% of attendance is compulsory.

Since the time of its establishment, MITSOM has witnessed an unbelievable growth in the quality of education, making it one of the best management institutes in the city. The college has been ranked 59^th among all the Non-Government institutes, ranked 7^th by the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2017 by Smart India Hackathon.
