Jagan Institute of Management Studies offers programs at the undergraduate level (BBA/BCA) and postgraduate level (MCA). It also provides a Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) in three specializations.
PGDM is a two years course designed for students to develop managerial, entrepreneurial, and leadership skills. PGDM program focuses on creating a strong conceptual and analytical structure and foster students to become a good decision maker. The program chooses a multi-disciplinary approach towards learning innovative teaching, pedagogy, guest sessions, corporate meets besides learning through internships, social projects and engagements like conferences, seminars, workshops, etc. This way student finds themselves molded as skilled professionals in domains like finance, marketing, and HR.
BBA is a three years program grouped in six semesters with an academic year apportioned into two semesters. Every two semesters run for about 21 weeks. Candidates who want to join the course are required to have cleared their 10+2 or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in total and should have English as a subject. Further, they have to appear for Common Entrance Test organized by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. The exam is organized in April and May.
BCA is a full time three years course that involves teaching the concepts of IT to the students. It covers the understanding of skills related to the use of computer along with its application. The primary motive of the program is to start a channel of admission for computing courses for students who have qualified 10+2 and are desirous of joining computing as a career. Candidates desirous of taking admission must have 50% aggregate in 12th with English and Mathematics or Computer Science/ Computer Application/ informatics Practice.
MCA is a full-time three-year course for imparting concepts of IT and specialization in areas such as Network Management, Database Management Techniques, and industry related subjects. Candidates who want to take admission in the program must have a bachelor’s degree from a renowned university with at least 50% marks in total. They also need to have passed in English and Mathematics, or BCA/ BIT/ BIS from a known University with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Technology or a recognized qualification equivalent to it with at least 50% marks in total.
Further candidates who want to apply for the course have to give a written test organized by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in April and May. Based on merit, students are granted admission in the program through the Common Entrance Test (CET).
