Christ College, Rajkot was established in the year 1998 as a Public Educational Institution. Christ College Rajkot is approved by UGC, accredited by NAAC, and is affiliated with Saurashtra University, Rajkot. Christ College Rajkot came into existence in 1998 to give higher learning education to the people of Kutch and Saurashtra. This college has an affiliation with the Saurashtra University of Rajkot and was approved by the UGC and NAAC. Initially, the college was on St. Mary’s School campus, but later it shifted to Vidhya Niketan. Former President Dr. Abdul Kalam inaugurated this college in 2001. The college was also the first in the state to get ISO certification in 2003. The idea behind setting up this college is simple: to give the youth of the Kutch region a quality education. The college has English-medium courses in the arts, science, and commerce streams. It imparts students with practical and theoretical knowledge to make them better citizens.
The college has several UG and PG courses in store. The college has a Bachelor of Arts, commerce, and science, and in PG courses it has an M.Sc course in Microbiology. The college has BCA and BBA courses, along with a BA in English and Psychology. The UG degree in Bioinformatics is unique and versatile and it was the first UG Bioinformatics course in Asia, beginning in 2002.
The college makes sure that students get full access to a teaching and learning environment along with academic and infrastructure facilities. The college conducts co-curricular and extracurricular events so that students can get the needed skills. The college also conducts quiz competitions, educational tours, interactions, and seminars.
Christ College Rajkot admits students through online as well as offline mode. The candidate has to complete all the personal and course details while applying online and submit them on the college website. The minimum criteria to take admission to the college are as follows:
● BBA/ BCA/ B.Com/ BA in English/ Psychology: The students should have appeared and passed their 10+2 board exams from Gujarat Board/CBSE/ICSE or any other board in any subject.
● B.Sc in PCM/ CS/ Botany/ Bioinformatics/ Microbiology: The students should have appeared and passed their 10+2 board exams from Gujarat Board/ CBSE/ ICSE or any other board in the science stream.
● M.Sc in Microbiology: Candidates who wish to pursue masters in microbiology should have studied B.Sc in Microbiology at graduation level.
For offline admissions, students can visit the Christ Campus and go to the administration department to know about the entire process. The students can also reach out to the office by mail or phone during working hours.
Christ College Rajkot gives the prestigious Bishop Gregory Award every year to the best student of that year. The student is chosen from the final-year students. During the felicitation ceremony, the student is awarded 5000 INR, and a certificate and a memento are also given to the student. The college follows a screening process to pick the best students in the college. The HOD of each faculty, after speaking to the other faculties, decides to give the name of the selected student. The student is chosen based on the criteria mentioned below:

● Athletic performance
● NCC participation
● Participation in other extracurricular activities
● Conduct and Discipline
The selected student will have to face an interview in front of an entire panel where experts from other fields are present. After considering the above-mentioned criteria and interview round, a student is finally shortlisted as the best student.

Christ College Rajkot has a career and placement cell that grooms students in such a manner that they are placed in prominent organizations after completing their degrees. The cell focuses on conducting guest visits, seminars, and workshops in a manner that students are trained for higher studies. They either get offers from top companies or are admitted to foreign universities to pursue higher education.
The cell has been playing a crucial role in inviting different companies and institutions for campus placements. PCM graduate students have an opportunity to join the prestigious ISRO, DRDO, and Space & Forensic research institutes after completing their degrees. Meanwhile B.Com/ BBA students can go for CA/CS or can become business consultant or managers in finance institutions.
Christ College Rajkot has a well-established infrastructure and all the facilities are provided to the day scholars as well as hostellers. The college has many clubs and committees that keep students busy other than academics. These clubs are the Cultural club, Rotaract club, and Science club. The cultural clubs take part in the inaugural ceremonies, traditional days, and Christmas and Navratri celebrations. It participates in a cultural week and keeps the fun and entertainment going along with the academics at the college.
The college has well-furnished hostels for both genders. The girls' hostels are run by charitable trusts and the boys' by private agencies. The hostels give a homely feel as well as an environment for serious studies. The hostels have a/c and non a/c facilities in the rooms and a warden is appointed to make sure students are comfortably settled and living.
The college has a grievance cell to make sure that students’ human rights are rightly protected. The college has other facilities like a library for study purposes, a canteen to eat in and transportation facilities for day scholars. The college also has a sports arena and an NCC facility. The best facility that this college could provide was for the differently abled students on the campus so that they wouldn’t face any challenges.
