Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College, commonly known as DDGDVC was established in the year 1964 by the Rajasthanis and Gujaratis settled in Chennai. This college is a linguistic minority college affiliated with the University of Madras. The college is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC), and accredited by NAAC and offers admission to multiple UG, PG, and Ph.D programs in the field of Arts, Management, Science, and Commerce. These programs are available in two different shifts i.e., Shift I and Shift II. In shift I, the college offers aided programs during the day, and in shift II, the college functions in the evening time and offers self-financing courses.

Vision: The vision of the college is to impart value based education to its students and to expose them to rich Indian culture and traditions. The college wants its students to broaden their perspective towards nation building, and harmony.

Mission: The college’s aim is to provide quality education so that students can acquire the right skills, develop their personality, and evoke empathy which will help them to become humane and responsible citizens.

Admission Process

DG Vaishnav College course admissions are offered in two different forms i.e., aided and self-finance courses. Candidates who are willing to take admission to the self-finance courses have to fill up 3 forms namely Registration Details, Application Details, and Application Form. Please follow the steps mentioned below for successful registration:

• Visit the official website of Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College
• Hover over ‘Admissions’ tab presented in the top of the dashboard, and then click on ‘Online Application Portal’
• Click on the Application link for the UG Courses (Self-Finance)
• Select the link of the course you’re interested in
• Fill out the registration details from using 12 group code, 12th class registration no, date of birth, and enter the verification code
• You will be redirected to the application details form
• Fill all the blanks with relevant details such as student name, mobile no., email id, religion, community, caste, and enter the code. Select the course you want to pursue.
• After clicking ‘I Agree’, the payment page will open
• After successful payment, the course codes of the courses you’ve selected will be sent to the registered email id.
• Further, enter your personal and academic details
• Upload necessary documents, and click on ‘Submit’
• After successful submission of the application form, you can download your application for future reference

Based on the highest cutoff marks and reservation policy provided by the Government of Tamil Nadu, the provisional selection of candidates is decided. Upon meeting all the eligibility requirements, the college summons the candidates for counselling procedure. On the prescribed date, students have to report physically at the college carrying documents for the verification round. The list of documents to be produced at the college at the time of counselling are highlighted below:

• Filled-In Counselling Form (Provided at the time of counselling)
• Original and photocopies of Transfer Certificate, Migration Certificate, Community Certificate
• Photocopies of Provisional 10+2 Marksheet with attestation
• UG Marksheet (For PG students)
• Passport size photographs

Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College offers scholarships to provide financial assistance to the meritorious students. This aid reduces the financial strain on students and encourages them to pursue college degrees. Students can cover their college expenses like tuition fees, books and supplies, living expenses and transportation, and technology and equipment using the scholarship. DGVC provides scholarships through National Scholarship and State Scholarship schemes. The State scholarship schemes are provided by the Farmers Welfare Department, Finance Department, Public Department, School Education department, etc. based on the students’ merit, caste, and parent’s profession.

Students can apply for the national scholarship through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). Firstly, candidates will have to register themselves using  mobile no. followed by verification of the aadhar no. Using the aadhar no. an OTR will be generated. Further, they must use that OTR for the application of the scholarship schemes when the portal will be opened.
