Sheth MNSC Patan came into existence in 1959 and was managed by the North Gujarat Education Society, Mumbai. The college has been accredited by NAAC and has received affiliation from the HNGU. The college has been awarded as CPE (College with Potential for Excellence) by the UGC.

The MNSC Patan provides several scholarships to their students. Those students who belong to SC/ST or OBC category and are handicapped can apply in the first term for the Gujarat Government scholarship through the Sheth MN Science college. The placement cell that has relationships with industries and the corporate sector for organising campus recruitment.
