Calcutta Girls' College Kolkata, since its inception in 1963 is providing higher education in the field of Commerce, Science, and Humanities to girl students. The girl’s college is working under the jurisdiction of University of Calcutta and has been accredited by NAAC.
Undergraduate degrees are provided by the college for Girl students who can enroll for both major and multidisciplinary courses. B.A, B.Com, and B.Sc programs in different subjects like History, Political Science, Urdu, Mathematics, etc are run by the college.
Admissions to the college are given following the directives of the affiliating university and the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal. Students are selected through the Merit List irrespective of the category of the applicants. Additionally students must have passed in English and cleared the subject they have applied for. Those students who have taken more than 3 years gap from the last passed exam are not eligible to take admission to the college.

The reserved category students in the college can avail scholarships program of Central Government, State Government, and UGC. Students can apply for Kanyashree Prakalpa Yojana also.
