Formerly known as University of Jodhpur, Jai Narain Vyas University is providing education in the field of Management, Science, Arts, and Law. The university was established in 1962. It is approved by UGC with the State University status and is accredited by NAAC with “B” grade. JNVU Jodhpur is now working as a divisional university for western part of Rajasthan. Currently, more than 330 colleges / institutes are affiliated to the university.

JNVU Jodhpur is providing qualifications for different courses at UG, PG, Certificate, Diploma and Doctorate level. BA, B.Sc, BBA, BCA, B.Ed, B.Com (Hons), B.A.LL.B, LL.M, MA, M.Sc, MBA, MCA, M.Com, Ph.D, D.Sc, D.Lit, etc courses in different disciplines are offered by the university under the following faculties and constituent colleges:
Admissions to the University for almost all UG courses are subject to the marks secured by the candidates in the 12th exam, entrance test, and by following the reservation policy of the state government. Students for PG programs, Diploma in Pharmacy, and Bachelor in pharmacy are admitted through spot counseling process. The minimum marks required for UG courses on all India bases is 60% while it is 50% for the state residential students. For PG courses 60% marks are required on all India basis and all Rajasthan basis.

The university awards a number of scholarships to the meritorious candidates and to the reserved category students who fulfill the eligibility criteria of the respective scholarships. Social Justice Higher Education Scholarship, CM Higher Education Scholarship, Samaj Kalyan Higher Education Scholarship are some of the scholarships provided to the university students.
JNVU has a Placement Cell which conducts campus placement to help students get job opportunities. It conducts various activities to groom its students to become successful entrepreneurs and to lead the industrial world.
Many of the university graduates have been selected by the reputed companies which include Infosys, Adobe, Tata Consultancy Services, IBM technologies, J K Cement, Vedanta, Ambuja Cement, Havells, and more.
The main campus of the university is spread on 592.46 acres while the other campus SMK Campus, Jaswant Campus, and K. N. College for Women cover nearly 600 acres of land. The campus has adequate facilities for learning and comfortable stay. JNVU campuses are equipped with academic facilities like classrooms, drawing halls, workshops, tutorial blocks, laboratories, etc. The University also updates its research facilities timely.
