The academics at SDM Institute for Management Development are the glue that holds it all together. The academics didn't hurt as much because many engineering students found it tough to study marketing topics and subjects, but as they say, things done together can bring fortunes. The faculty and the management asked us to help those students out. Even though in PGDM Colleges, we look at each other as our competition, the College knows what and how students can be persuaded to help their fellow mates. The course happened to be tough for students from engineering and other backgrounds to understand the concepts of management and marketing. Luckily, I did BBA and therefore helping my friends from engineering students worked as a boon for me. Since this College emphasizes academics, you will gradually learn to be more studious and get help from fellow classmates and the faculty to sail through. The initial semester was tough, but as we got into the groove and began working hard and understanding the concepts, it was smooth sailing from there. We learned from practicals and worked on hypothetical situations to hone our talent in the subject, and the faculty helped us achieve that.Read Full Review

Academics here were a virus that infected all the students because after the induction program, I saw all the students getting so serious about it as if there's nothing beyond studies. It is unimaginable how much of an impact academics at SDMIMD has made on us because academics here were not on campus. We were taken to various other campuses including IIM Bangalore for a guest lecture and competitions where students of SDMIMD have done well. If there are two terms defensive and attacking, then academics was the attacking point of the College. They used all their bullets in academics first and then the leftovers for extra-curricular activities.Read Full Review
