Lourde College of Nursing

Lourde College of Nursing Kannur has established a Placement Department that follows a systematic process for facilitating placement to the final-year students. To achieve the same, the Department organises various placement activities to groom them for the future opportunities. The Placement Department of the college has associations with various hospitals & invites them for organising campus recruitment drives. Students, who prove their skills and meet the industry requirements, secure placements through the placement drives.

The Lourde College of Nursing is a part of the Lourde Education Academy & is located in Kannurm, Taliparamba. The college offers state-of-the-art infrastructure to the students including classrooms equipped with audio-visual aids including blackboards, LCDs, and OHPs. In addition to this, the campus is equipped with an internet facility.

Other facilities for students on the campus include the following:

• Library: The college has a Central Library that covers an area of approximately 2750 sq. ft. having an accommodation capacity of around 150 students. The library is equipped with around 3,500 books, titles, and subscribes to 20+ National and International journals.
• Laboratories: The college has a Computer Lab that is equipped with a sufficient number of computers & has an internet connection so that the students can gain knowledge by accessing the online journals & education portals. Moreover, there are different well-equipped labs that assist in enhancing the professional and technical skills of nursing students. The labs are:

  • Nursing Foundation Lab
  • Anatomy Lab
  • Advanced Medical Surgical Nursing Lab
  • Computer Lab
• Auditorium: The college has a spacious & equipped auditorium that is spread in a carpet area of approximately 4,000 sq. ft. for hosting different curricular and co-curricular activities. The auditorium, which has an accommodation capacity of around 700 students is also used as an examination hall with a confidential room and CCTV surveillance.
• Hostel: There are 2 well furnished hostels for girls wherein facilities like study hall, reading room, television, indoor games facilities, etc. are available for the residents. Students are provided hygienically prepared vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals.
• Sports: The College offers sports and recreation facilities in the campus to engage students to remain physically fit. Outdoor game facilities include handball, shuttle badminton, cricket, etc. and amenities for indoor games include chess, carrom, etc. There is a separate playground for conducting athletic and field events such as shot put, running, javelin throw, etc.
• Transportation: The College has its own buses to offer a safe commuting facility to the students. The buses are used for daily transportation & for other college related activities.
