Crescent College of Nursing

Crescent Institution of Nursing Alathur consists of Crescent School of Nursing and Crescent College of Nursing. It works under the guidance of Crescent Medical Centre Ltd. Crescent School of Nursing started functioning in 2001 and has received approval from University of Calicut and Government of Kerala. Established in 2006, Crescent College of Nursing became the first nursing college in Palakkad.

Both the school and college of nursing is affiliated with Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur and is recognised by the Indian Nursing Council and the Kerala Nursing Council. Students can take admission in B.Sc Nursing at the UG level and M.Sc Nursing under the PG level at the Crescent College of Nursing. The General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course is provided by Crescent School of Nursing.

Mission: The institution’s mission is to excel in providing education in nursing with focus on scientific principles, theory and practical knowledge.

The institution offers admission in B.Sc Nursing, M.Sc Nursing and GNM. Students can take admission in these courses either under government quota or through management quota.The eligibility criteria set for each of these nursing courses are tabulated below:

• In case of Kerala domicile Educationally and Socially Backward students, they are provided with 5% relaxation for admission in B.Sc Nursing.
• Similarly, SC/ST students need only the passing marks in the qualifying exam given that they provide the relevant certificates.

Admission Process

• Admission in B.Sc Nursing under government quota is done through LBS Centre for Science and Technology. For admission under management quota, GNM and M.Sc admission candidates need to visit Crescent Institution of Nursing Alathur and fill out the application form.
• B.Sc Nursing applicants under government quota need to visit the website www.lbscentre.kerala.gov.in, click on the ‘Admission to Professional Degree
• Courses in Nursing and ParaMedical Streams’ link under “various allotments”.
• Next, they need to complete the registration and pay the fee through online/challan mode.
• Applicants then need to note their registration ID and password and submit the application form. They must keep a copy of their filled-in application and fee payment receipt for future references.
• After the initial screening, LBS releases a rank list. Shortlisted candidates then need to take part in the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) which is done through a Single Window System (SWS).
• Candidates need to register for CAP and select B.Sc Nursing as their choice of course. Then they need to select Crescent Institution of Nursing Alathur as their preferred institution.
• Next, three allotment lists will be released online. Shortlisted candidates then need to report to the college, complete their document verification process and pay the admission fee.
• For those taking B.Sc Nursing admission under management quota, GNM applicants and M.Sc applicants, after application submission and application fee payment, a list will be released.
• Based on the list they need to attend an interview round.
• After the final rank list is released, they need to visit the college to pay the admission fee and verify their documents.
