Smt. Nagarathnamma College of Nursing which was established in 2003 and is a part of Acharya Institutions. Besides NAAC accreditation it is affiliated with the KSDN Examination Board. The college offers merit and need-based scholarships which are different for domestic, international and NRI students. For domestic and international students, the scholarship options available include merit scholarships, scholarships of sports people, scholarships for NCC cadets, children of farmers, wards of defence personnel, children of teachers, single parent, BPL card holders, physically challenged, siblings, alumni and children of employees.
NRI students can avail the scholarships if they qualify the Acharya Entrance Test (AET) and fill out the scholarship application form. It is a MCQ-based test with questions from Physics, Biology and Logical Reasoning. The eligibility criteria is that students must pass 10 + 2 from institutions outside India. Shortlisted candidates can avail performance-based scholarship in the form of 75%, 50% or 25% tuition-fee waiver which is based on candidate’s performance in entrance examination. Candidates can renew their scholarships given that they maintain a certain CGPA in the first year.
The college has a placement and guidance cell that is responsible for conducting placement-related activities like alumni networking for guidance and mentoring, personalised support, preparing students for placement, expert talks from industry experts, industry-visits, organising seminars and workshops, and pre-placement training. Students are also provided with internships with universities at the global level.
