BC Roy College of Pharmacy was established in September, 2005 and it is one of the units of BC Roy Group of Colleges. It is situated at the centre of Durgapur Steel City. The college is affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT). Also, the college is approved by AICTE, New Delhi; the Pharmacy Council of India, and the Department of Higher Education. The college is accredited by NAAC and NBA. B.Pharm and M.Pharm courses are available at the college at UG and PG levels. The M.Pharm is offered under 4 different branches namely Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Industrial Pharmacy, and Pharmaceutical Analysis.

Vision: The College aspires to transform its status into a centre of excellence at the global level through innovativeness, creativity, and discipline.

Mission: The mission of the college is to create an ideal atmosphere for learning and inculcate professional ethics, and leadership qualities into students. Also, the college seeks to develop a valuable relationship between faculty and students for betterment of the society.

The college offers a B.Pharm and a B.Pharm (Lateral) program for a duration of 4 years. Along with this, a 2-year M.Pharm program is offered at the PG level. The eligibility criteria for these courses are tabulated below:

*For B.Pharm admission, SC / ST / OBC candidates will enjoy a relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum marks required in the last qualifying examination.

*All candidates seeking admission at the college have to be in good mental and physical health.

Admission Process

The admission process at the college includes counselling rounds conducted by the WBJEE. After clearing the WBJEE or JEE (Mains) exam, students have to register themselves for the online counselling procedure. The counselling usually takes place during August-September, and is conducted in a total of 3 rounds. Please follow the steps highlighted below to secure a seat at the college:

• Online registration: Students who have cleared the WBJEE or JEE Main entrance exam, must register themselves for the online counselling. They must visit the official website of WBJEE e-counselling portal, and click on the registration link present under the Candidate Activity Board. Provide all the necessary personal details, educational details, and bank account details. Pay the fees, and complete the registration process.
• Choice filling and choice locking: After entering the academic scores and paying the registration fees, candidates can view all the institutes available to them based on their eligibility. They must select the institutes and arrange the choices in order of their preferences. Within a pre-scheduled date, candidates will be required to lock their choices and take a printout of the same. If any candidate fails to lock their choices before the due date, their last saved choices will be considered final.
• Round allotments: The counselling authority will further declare the allotments based on the students’ merit and the availability of seats at the institute. Candidates must login using their credentials to check the allotments. A seat acceptance fee has to be submitted through online modes i.e., Net banking / Debit Card / Credit Card / UPI.
• Document Verification: This round consists of physical reporting at the institute carrying original and photocopies of documents. Candidates have to physically visit the institute. To know the timings, and detailed requirements, students have to contact the college. Post the document verification and payment of admission fee, the admission will be granted and classes will commence on a notified date.

• Admit card / birth certificate (for age proof)
• Admit card of WBJEE / JEE Mains / PGET / Common entrance test for diploma
• Class 10 & 12 marksheet
• Migration certificate, and character certificate
• Allotment letter of WBSCT / WBJEE
• Aadhar card
• Registration certificate (for B.Pharm passed out candidates) & Pharmacists registration certificate
• Candidates wearing spectacle must produce recent certificate showing the power of glasses
• Stamp size coloured photograph

The college offers scholarships to the students who are needy and meritorious. Through this financial aid, the burden of college expenses reduces, allowing students to pursue college degrees, and achieve their goal in life. It provides financial support and other resources and opportunities to attract smart, and high-achieving students. The college offers scholarships or freeships to the students based on the annual family income, merit rank in central or state level examination, in case of death of parent / guardian, and marks secured in the last semester. The different scholarship schemes available to the students are mentioned below:

• West Bengal Freeship Scheme: This scholarship is offered to the students based on their merit secured in the WBJEE / JEE Mains and their annual family income. Through this scheme, half of the tuition fee is waived off.
• Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme: Based on students’ rank in WBJEE and their parental income, this scheme is offered. Under this scheme, only the tuition fee is waived off, all other fees have to be paid by them.
• M.Pharm Scholarship Scheme: Students have to maintain a minimum percentage of attendance to avail this scheme. A requisite amount is given to the students to encourage active participation throughout the course.
• Scholarship from Students Welfare Committee (SWC) of the University: Under this scheme, students’ half of the semester fee is waived by the college and other half is provided by the university in case of death of parent / guardian or accident faced by the student during their course.
• IPA Bengal Pharma Healthcare Trust Scholarship: This scholarship is offered to the existing UG students of the college. Students receive a onetime grant by IPA Pharma Healthcare Trust.
• Sitaram Jindal Scholarship Scheme: Based on the parental income and minimum eligibility marks, UG and PG students are offered an amount of scholarship every month by Sitaram Jindal Foundation.
