Formerly known as Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University (APAU), Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University was established in 1964 to train and educate human resources as per the requirements of the society and the nation. This university is approved by UGC and recognised by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.
The mission and vision of ANGRAU is to train students as per the needs of the agriculture sector and prepare them to solve the challenges that occur in the fast-changing society. Moreover, the university promotes the use of technology in advancing farm production and improving the incomes of the farmers through modern techniques. ANGRAU also wants to provide an opportunity to learn and adopt new and enhanced agro-technologies to the youth and women living in rural areas.
