The Bharat Education Society (BES) commenced operations during the year 1971 from Jayanagar District in the Indian state of Karnataka’s capital city, Bangalore. The College’s founder is Sri B L Lakkegowda who believes that learning is facilitated via a supporting team of talented students, cooperative leaders, and dedicated faculty members; and he has been working towards the same goal.
Since inception, the Group has become the preferred destination for pursuing a variety of courses, across several disciplines, on the basis of the center’s ability to deliver quality education at affordable costs; moreover, the Society invests in creating an environment that is conducive for learning and in turn, grooms the students to become professionals in their chosen domains.
As part of the BES Group of Institutions, the BES College of Law was constituted during the year 2001 and offers law courses: the BA LLB and LLB. The College’s BA LLB course’s first batch of students was admitted during the academic year 1998-99. Also, the Bar Council of India has accredited the College’s BA LLB program, in addition to the Government of Karnataka passing the necessary sanctions for having affiliation with the Bangalore University.
However, the 3-year LLB course started from the academic year 2006-07 onwards; the Bar Council of India of New Delhi has accredited the program; and from the academic year 2009-10 onwards, the Karnataka State Law University of Hubli became the course’s affiliating body.
The BES campus at Bangalore’s popular Jayanagar region boasts of state-of-the-art infrastructure, offering the full array of amenities for facilitating the students’ journey into becoming globally-competitive professionals in their career paths.
The BES’ core objective is to empower the Karnataka state’s deprived classes by providing value-based education, and for improving their quality of life, and bringing them at par with the privileged classes. For attaining the given goal, the Institution operates a series of schools and colleges across the state. Additionally, the Society strives to facilitate learning via a robust network of pupils, industry leaders, and faculty members. Further, to impart professional and industry-relevant courses, the BES reviews and updates the curricula and regularly for meeting international standards.
The Institution’s management affairs are presided over by the Society’s appointed Managing Committee, while guided by the Society’s founder Sri. B.L. Lakke Gowda along with other esteemed members.
In accordance with the rules set by the Karnataka State Government, the BES College of Law admission procedure is on merit basis. Moreover, the Government authorities, periodically, review whether the stipulated rules are followed by the Institution.
In all, the College strives to be counted among the country’s premier law colleges and become a world-class institution, and thus has developed a student-friendly campus through providing the full range of infrastructural facilities. The BES College of Law library is, also, stocked with books, journals, magazines, periodicals, and other educational resources – with the inclusion of the online ones. The center’s faculty members are well-experienced in their respective domains, too. Furthermore, there is focus on developing the pupils’ skills through imparting practical experience and arranging several interactive sessions – including the extracurricular and co-curricular activities.
