As part of the center’s efforts to create an academic environment that stimulates the intellectual growth of the students, the BES College of Law campus has been constructed with a range of facilities such as seminar halls, hostel accommodation, airy classrooms, bank, moot courts, eateries, sports grounds, and auditoriums – among others. Further, the surrounding lush greenery gives the much-needed respite from academics to all.
The College’s seminar halls bear aesthetic designs and are equipped with modern audio-visual aids for hosting seminars, conferences, workshops, presentations, and discussions. The College has an auditorium that is used for several recreational and cultural events.
The College’s well-stocked library is accessible by the students after producing their ID cards. The pupils can avail the library resources for the previous years’ question papers so they can be better prepared for the exams, score higher marks; and subsequently, have exemplary career graphs.
The center has provisions for playing both indoor (such as carom and chess) and outdoor games (including Throw ball, Basketball, Kabaddi, Volleyball, and Kho-Kho).
For serving the Society members banking needs, the College houses a Co-operative bank, the Bharath Co-operative Bank, too.
In between academic sessions, the BES has an array of extracurricular and co-curricular activities to aid the pupils’ physical growth and skill development. By taking part in sports and recreational events, the students learn about teambuilding and imbibe healthy competitive spirit as well. Additionally, during public holidays, the center organizes events to celebrate the festivities, in addition to instilling a sense of national pride among the students, and getting them familiar with national culture.
For showcasing the talents of the students and encouraging them to pursue their interests, the College has sporting tournaments, drama, music concerts, and skits.
Moreover, the center organizes paper presentations, quizzes, competitions, essay writings, and debates where the students can come together and put forth their different perspectives that are an integral part of their overall personality development.
For having a healthy competitive environment and as part of the students’ character-building process, the Society participates in several interuniversity and inter-college sporting tournaments for the students to take part in and pursue their sports’ interests.
The BES understands that there are several technological advancements in industries and there is need to remain abreast of the rapidly-changing corporate environment; and thus hosts seminar programs and invites eminent professionals, along with academicians, for greater student-industry and student-academia interface that constitute part of the pupils’ training to become job-ready upon successful completion of the College’s law courses.
In educational institutions that propose law courses, the norm is to conduct mooting that is a kind of oral proceeding, similar to court ones, for the purpose of assessing the student’s abilities in holding arguments based on law. The BES College of Law campus area contains a moot court for the students to get acquainted with courtroom proceedings, too. Moreover, moot courts help to train the students on how to present their cases in front of the judges and on their overall conduct in courts and other law offices.
At the BES, there is focus on transforming the students into environmentally-conscious and responsible society members, hence a range of welfare activities, such as tree plantation drives and other rural development programs are hosted by the Society, under the government-run National Service Scheme. Through such welfare drives, the pupils become aware of the various issues that inflict society members; and they develop a keen sense to finding sustainable solutions and then, working towards achieving the same. Further, they become inclined to adopt eco-friendly measures for environment preservation.
Moreover, the BES College of Law infrastructure has been developed to create an ecosystem where the country’s future lawyers can, through interactions with their fellow counterparts, learn about society’s current problems and have discussions, put forth their suggestions, give their opinions; and in general, have healthy debates with others who offer different perspectives on the problem at hand.
At any time of the day, you will notice that the College campus is abuzz with activity, with students struggling to grasp the coursework concepts, attending workshops, or simply unwinding and hanging around the corridors and canteen with their group of friends. Towards the evening, they are seen working out at the fitness centers or engaging in student clubs to refresh their mind, body and spirit to prepare for the following day of academic sessions.
To break the monotony of classroom sessions, while keeping in mind the importance of practical education, the College has workshops, study tours, and industrial visits that are an integral part of the College’s student life, too.
