Bachelor of Pharmacy is a four-year course that imparts fundamental knowledge and skills in the field of Pharmacy. A person who wants to practice as a Pharmacist must hold this degree. Candidates who want to pursue this course must have completed Higher Secondary School with physics, biology, and chemistry as the main subject with a minimum of 40% marks. For lateral entry, the candidate must be a diploma holder. Admission in the lateral entry is made by merit of the qualifying examination.
Master of Pharmacy is a two-year program that upgrades the skills and knowledge of students in the field of pharmacy. The specializations offered are Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacognosy, Pharma Practice and Pharmacology. Candidates willing to pursue M.Pharma must have scored 55% marks in B.Pharma. The course imparts knowledge about the chemical composition and the manufacturing process. The program involves knowledge about the development in the field of medicines. After the completion, of course, students get the opportunity to work as a Drug inspector, health care manager, medical transcriptionist, research associate, Professor, Analytical Chemist, etc.
Ph.D. in the field of Pharmacy involves theoretical as well as practical aspects of the curriculum. The program upgrades the knowledge about drug preparation. The course includes chemical science along with health science for safe and effective usage of drugs. Candidates seeking to take admission must have completed a postgraduate course in pharmacy. The program involves medications review for safety and provides information related to clinical and drug services. Candidates willing to take admission to Ph.D. must have completed a Master’s degree in the field of Pharmacy.
