Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication Reviews on Placement, Faculty, Hostel by Students

I passed out from SIMC Pune in 2019 and I am very happy with the things that gone over there and post that. For MBA from Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication, one has to clear SNAP and because I failed in that, I decided to pursue MA from here which is also highly ranked. SIMC Lavale offers two specializations and they are journalism and audio visual. Since, I was into creativity, mass communication and journalism was the one I chose. Rankings has proven that SIMC has been ranking among the top colleges for media studies for a while. On academic front, the delivery is first class but the fees is just too high. Paying over 8 lakhs for MA and then the hostel fees and project costs, it costed around 12 lakhs and the jobs were definitely not in accordance with that. So, these things do bring this institute down a bit. There’s nothing called callous from the management as they were up front with all the issues that students put forward. Some of the labs are updated regularly and an overhaul of all the labs is done every couple of years. From Mumbai to Pune, it wasn’t far as far was Lavale from Pune. In terms of distance, it wasn’t but in terms of civilization it was. Pune is as good as suburbs of Mumbai but Lavale was a pure village with a population of just 6k people. Symbiosis International University Pune population doesn’t count though otherwise there are around 4k students in our campus itself. I think over 5k but let’s move on from the figures and as my journey at Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communications Pune was so that I will remember every ounce of it till my last breath. Along with MA, SIMC MBA program in Mass Communication also there but for that SNAP is mandatory and that too with a percentile of over 90. I wish I was that brilliant but because I wasn’t, I was happy to be containing with MA in Journalism. If one wants to know what journalism is all about that then I bet there’s no better place than SIMC Pune as the college has the expert faculty from journalism business. All the facilities that are required for journalism were there at SIMC building of the campus which was perhaps the best block of the campus.Read Full Review

I had no choice but to look for the best because though I was doing Post Graduation, I was carrying nothing behind. I had to start from scratch, and my MA in Mass Communication & Journalism from SIMC Pune has costed me my dad’s entire savings. Therefore, I had no choice but to give my 200%. SIMC is rated highly because the institute has tie-ups with all the big media houses and PR agencies. From editing to ground zero, we have been taught all, and also practical application of everything was done under the supervision of experts from prestigious media houses. I don’t think such things can happen anywhere else, as SIMC Lavale is not just a brand name but has delivered when it mattered the most. Some policies laid down by management are aggressive as they allowed us to stay out of the campus for as long as we wanted if we were on a project. Even the girls enjoyed the same freedom as some parents sent their girls over here considering the curfew time, but the university management took care of all.Read Full Review
