Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication

The Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication laid its foundation stone in the year 1990. It is a constituent of Symbiosis International University (Deemed University). The institute was set up with a vision to promote international understanding through quality education. It runs with the aim of contributing towards generation of knowledge, promoting value based and ethical learning, nurturing creativity and entrepreneurship, instilling sensitivity among the students, and developing global competencies amongst the students.

The institute offers 2 Post Graduate Courses and 2 Certificate Courses namely:

• MBA Communication Management with specialisations in Brand Communication, Public Relations, Marketing and Media Analytics, and/or Media Management
• Masters in Mass Communication (MA MC) with specialisations in Journalism and Audio Visual
• Certificate in Sound Engineering
• Certificate in Video Editing

The candidates seeking admission to the Certificate Programs offered at the institute must have cleared 12^th Standard or equivalent from any recognised board and secured a minimum of 45% marks.  For accessing the Application Form for the Certificate Programs the candidates must visit the college website. Certain documents like Passport Sized Photograph, Identity Proof, 12^th Standard Mark Sheet, etc. are required to submit the application form.

The candidates seeking admission to the Post Graduate Programs offered at the institute must have cleared Graduation / Bachelors Degree from a recognised University/Institution with at least 50% marks (for the general category) or 45% marks (for the SC/ST category). The candidates are expected to visit the college website and fill up the Application Form with all the necessary documents.

MA (Mass Communication) - After filling the form, the candidates have to register for the SIMC MA (MC) Online Entrance Test. Once the candidate clears the entrance test, they are expected to qualify the Group Exercise, Personal Interview, and Writing Ability Test (GE-PIWAT) for the final selection.

MBA (Communication Management) - After filling the form, the candidates have to register for the SIMC MBA (CM) SNAP Entrance Test. Once the candidate clears the entrance test, they are expected to qualify the Group Exercise, Personal Interview, and Writing Ability Test (GE-PIWAT) for the final selection.

*Note: An Equivalence Certificate must be obtained from AIU, New Delhi by the candidates that have cleared their qualifying degree from any Foreign University / Non-Indian Board.
