St John's Medical College is a quite good college for imparting education in the field of medical sciences. The college was set up in the year 1963 and is now running under the guidance of George A D’Souza. The college is associated with RGUHS, Bangalore, and is recognized by MCI (Medical Council of India) & has accreditation with the NAAC. Nowadays, hospitals are requiring young healthcare individuals for the healthcare sector and that's when colleges like these come into action.

The college is giving education in the medical sector and provides graduation courses such as MBBS, post-graduation courses such as MD (Doctor of Medicine) / MS (Master of Surgery), and super specialty courses such as MD (Doctor of Medicine) and M.Ch.(Master of Chirurgiae), fellowship courses like Pediatric Hemato-oncology/ Nephrology/ Intensive Care/  Developmental & Behavioral, Perinatal Medicine, Dermato Surgery, Arthroscopy & Sports Injury, Child Psychiatry, and Ph.D. program in Medical Sciences and Allied Health Sciences.

St John's Medical College admits the students on the criteria of previous test examinations. Interested applicants can apply online for admission by visiting the college’s website. The students there have to fill out the application form and submit the respective fee for the form. The students can also take admission to the college offline by filling out the form on the college premises. The students who are selected will be informed by the college. Then they will have to submit all the required documents and then deposit the desired course fees.

The qualification norms for admission in the following courses are as follows:

• Graduation Stream
  • MBBS
    • The applicant should have minimum age of 17 years till 31st Dec of the admission year.
    • The applicant should have scored 50% in the general category and 40% in the case of the reserved category in the 10+2 examinations.
    • Compulsory subjects should be Physics, Biology, English, and Chemistry.
    • The applicant must have appeared in the NEET-UG exam in the same year of admission.
       
• Post-Graduation Stream
  • MD/ MS
    • The applicant should have a degree in MBBS from a university recognized by MCI and an internship of 1 year in the healthcare sector.
    • The applicant should be registered with IMC (Indian Medical Council).
    • The applicant must have cleared the NEET-UG exam.
• • M.Ch
    • The applicant should have a degree in MD from a university recognized by MCI and an internship of 1 year in the healthcare sector.
    • The applicant must have completed an MD degree in the specified compulsory subjects.
• Ph.D.
  • Medical Sciences and Allied Health Sciences
    • The applicant must have appeared in the Ph.D. Entrance Examination.
    • The applicant must have scored 50% or above in the Ph.D. Entrance Examination.
