ODGI has a Training and Placement Cell which guides, supports, and provides training to the students. Om Dayal Group of Institutions located in Howrah, West Bengal started its educational expedition in the year 2010. The institute aimed at facilitating the country to emerge as an economic superpower, the college began its services as a Private Educational Institute. Its objective was to build a student’s career in the fields of Architecture and Engineering. The college affiliated with the Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), Kolkata. It got approvals by reputed AICTE and COA. From day one, the institute has managed to maintain its level of education and believes in constant quality improvement. The management of the institute is working under Prof. Satyendra Nath Chattopadhyay serving as the college Principal.
The inception of the institute began with a selfless motive to fulfill the objective of improving quality of education in Bengal. Gradually, the college maintained its stride to stand as an educational landmark in Kolkata. Through continuous efforts and full dedication, the institute has been improving till date and strives to become better for the future generations.
The college offers undergraduate courses like B.Tech and B.Arch in its curriculum. The application process for admissions at Om Dayal Institute is online. The college conducts the entries based on entrance examinations to B.Tech and B.Arch courses are through merit list of JEE Main, JELET, WEBJEE, etc. A minimum attendance of 75% is mandatory for students to be allowed to sit in the semester examinations. The college holds a good reputation and ranking in India and stands as Top Engineering Institute in West Bengal by i3RC Times, Times of India (Kolkata). NAAC also accredits the college.
The institute houses a library that started functioning with a vision to serve as the resource for information. It has a massive collection of books related to different fields like architecture, engineering, and other allied subjects. The library presently has a group of about 13,000 volumes of text and reference books and subscription of about more than 60 journals and periodicals in the Central and Architecture Libraries.
Apart from the rich assortment of books in the library, the college also provides NPTEL facility to access video lectures and DELNET access for resource sharing. A digital library with ten systems is present to access E-journals, CD/DVD, and E-books, etc. All house-keeping operations maintain through LSEase software that provides OPAC access to library resources. The libraries consist of the reading area, a reference section, open access periodical display, black volume archives, internet browsing terminals, etc.
