To become successful in the field of agriculture, exposure to work and training is very important. To provide this training and guidance to the students, the university has established a Training and Placement Cell. This cell is responsible for providing an opportunity to the students where they can grow and learn the tips and tricks of work. Students are monitored by the cell from the start and are offered mandatory training programs. These programs help the students in understanding the field work and help them in opting for informed & researched career choices. The cell maintains professional relations with the national and international recruiting companies and it also promotes entrepreneurship. It organises a range of seminars, industry talks, webinars, conferences, etc for the students so that they can learn about the work and make professional links & contacts. The objectives of T&P Cell are:
JAU, Junagadh follows a placement process while providing job opportunities. At first, the university collects the resumes of eligible students and sends them to recruiting organisations. Companies update the cell about the finalised students and they schedule interviews. After interviews, GD, and aptitude tests, the companies announce the names of the placed students and provide them with the offer letter. Here, the students can get placement in the private sector, public sector, or NGOs. The students can play an important role as agriculture engineers in various departments like Nationalised Banks, Food Processing Industries, Tractor Industries, Irrigation Department, State Land Development Corporation, Food Corporation of India, Irrigation Equipment Industries, etc.
Some agencies and industries in Gujarat where the agriculture engineers of JAU got placed are Gujarat Energy Development Agency, Vadilal Industries, Decision Support Centre, Warehousing Corporation, Command Area Development, Ground Water Board, Gujarat Agro-Industries, Rural Development Corporation, Gujarat State Forest Development Corporation, etc.
