IHM Shillong was founded in 2001 as an autonomous body under the Ministry of tourism, Govt of India. The statutory body NCHMCT has given approval to the college. It offers courses at diploma and bachelors level.

Admission Process
For admission, candidates have to visit the IHM Shillong website, click on the “admission” tab. According to the courses, the application form is made available in PDF form. Download the form, fill out all the details and submit the form by either visiting the college or via speed post.
The admission is based on the results of the entrance exam (NCHM JEE) conducted by the NTA followed by a counseling process. No direct admissions are allowed.

IHM Shillong provides campus placement for their students along with industrial training for 17 weeks which is compulsory. Many students have been placed in 5 star and 4 star hotels. A Skill testing & certification training is also organised by the IHM Shillong. Students have to submit the application form along with the documents to apply for this training program.
